Chelsea 1 Manchester United 0

It was one of those times I just felt we weren't gonna win.

The team didn't try hard enough. Maybe except for Herrera and DDG, everyone else was just a little slower in pace, and everyone was waiting for someone else to make something happen.

This is the 2018 FA Cup Finals.

Sigh.

Should I blame Mourinho like a lot of Manchester United fans around me? I just dunno.

I don't want to think about things now that our season has ended in such a disappointing fashion. Just hoping that Real Madrid beats Liverpool next week in the UCL Finals. And then there is the World Cup to look forward to.

Sigh.

2nd in the league and no silverware is a weird place to be. Our best ever finish since SAF and yet it feels so empty.

Tokyo, Japan 2018

I love Japan so much.

The food is just a notch above all overseas Japanese food.

The people are just so orderly and respectful.

Everything just works like clockwork here, as it famously does.

There is an underlying current of undervalue-ness here.

I think Japan is an up and coming behemoth, if it isn't already one.

My local friends tell me that the property market here is severely undervalued. But maybe because the chances of an earthquake destroying everything is so high?

I dunno.

Anyway I hope to come back again very soon.

Shanghai, China 2018

I love Shanghai.

This is where things are seriously happening. You can feel the vibe. The pace is fast, people want to get things done, and things get done very efficiently.

It is no wonder that Shanghai is taking over HK as a global financial center.

Oh, and things are bigger here too. Much bigger.

Hoping to be back a lot more times.

Hong Kong 2018

I've never really fancied HK as a touristy destination. It is too similar to SG.

This time around for work, it instead provided very stark contrast. The streets are narrower, and the pace of the locals is so much faster. Yet it begs the question: are they more efficient?

I got the feeling that HK is dying a slow death. Too much red tape, too much China involvement (and getting more and more by the day), too much "Gateway to China" feels rather than "Global Financial Centre" feels now.

There is a brain drain and it is very real. Local Hong Kong millenials want to get out and fast.

Let's see how things go in the next five years.

Flying Is So Tiring

Been travelling a lot over the last two weeks.

Hong Kong.

Shanghai.

Back to Singapore.

Tokyo.

All in the span of 2-3 days each.

All for work.

It is amazing what a toll it takes out of my body.

Plus I miss home.

And I miss the Singaporean food.

Greener Fingers

Greener fingers!

Look at how well my little garden has grown!

Avengers: Infinity War

It is the Labour Day May first holiday today and what better way to catch an early screening of the latest Avengers movie?

***WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD***

Oh my.

Wow.

What an epic movie.

I am still digesting it as I type.

1) The movie is just so beautifully epic and complete, yet still so incomplete. This almost 3 hour epic really gave enough screen time to so many characters. It also told the full story so well and beautifully constructed, even if Thanos were to win in the end, closing more than 10 years of MCU movies very, very well. Yet the whole story opens a whole new cinematic universe of possibilities, with the most important question "What happens next?" still to be answered.

2) So many deaths. How to process? The worst IMO was that of Spiderman's. "I don't want to go", Peter Parker said to Tony Stark as he disappeared in his arms. So sad, and it made a lot of kids cry. Gamora's death as a sacrifice to get the Soul stone was also painful to watch, yet somewhat predictable.

3) At least we know Captain America, Ironman, Thor are still alive.

4) Thanos' reason to eliminate half the universe actually makes sense to me. To be honest, his rationale that half the universe needs to disappear in order to preserve its existence is a very rational one IMO. Already on earth, we are talking about overpopulation, extreme pollution, climate change etc, and this is very much due to the work of us humankind. So after he achieves his goal, where did all his minions go? He was all alone in the end.

5) Must watch a second time.

6) The end credits show Nick Fury and Maria Hill disintegrating as well, only for Nick to drop this pager thingy as he disappears. showing the colours and logo of Captain Marvel. This is super exciting, opening up so many new possibilities for the MCU in upcoming films. Although where was she the last 10 years also probably needs to be answered.
