Day two we thought the rain would ruin our day, but it was only a slight drizzle and it hardly dented our plans one bit. We were going to Taronga Zoo, rain or shine!
It started with a short trek back to Circular Quay where we bought our tickets. We had to take the ferry at Wharf 4 and this was the superb view. Who would've thought the views from the 20min ferry ride would beat yesterday's?!
Look at the iconic Sydney Opera House! The view from the ferry when we were right in front!
This is the city view. Amazing right?!
We reach the zoo and this immediately reminded me of that song.
Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree,
Merry merry king of the bush is he.
Laugh, Kookaburra, laugh, Kookaburra,
Gay your life must be!
The token Red Kangaroo. He is the only kangaroo in the Taronga Zoo.
I can't remember what this was called, but it's a lizard native to Australia and it looked so cute!
These giraffes were so cute and neat! I was amazed how clean the animals in Taronga Zoo were. It goes to show how the animal-friendly Aussies are just so much better with taking care of wildlife. Testament to this was the success of their breeding-in-captivity program, which has successfully bred more than 80 giraffes, even though it isn't native to Australia!
The mountain goat that's called a mountain sheep. Haha.
A Pygmy Hippo.
This view, is to die for. Just majestic. What a backdrop.
The view on the ferry ride back.
Another view of the icon.
