Wow.
I didn't expect to test positive to be honest.
How xianz is that man seriously.
I'm feeling fine, aside from a slightly itchy throat.
This afternoon I went to do my regular ART and it spat out a positive result.
I was a little taken aback, since I was feeling quite healthy prior.
In fact I went to take a second ART of a different brand.
Cui.
So I had to check the MOH website for the most commonly googled item for sick people now, "What if I test positive for covid?"
Luckily in Singapore we have a simple system in place already and it is pretty clear especially now that Omicron is the dominant strain, that we are progressing towards an endemic state. Omicron itself appears a lot less severe and but more infectious, it seems.
These is the 3 protocols system we have right now in Singapore, if you get covid.
So I fall in Protocol 2.
I'll have to stay at home for 72hrs. Which is quite the bummer since I'll be missing the most important work in office week of the year!
Sad.
I'm not clear if I should visit a clinic, just to have myself registered has having tested positive, so I went to search more about this.
And look at yesterday's update here.
So technically, I wouldn't even become a statistic.
Is that sadder? I'm not sure. Some have said it is better to register so that in future there are records of my positive results and maybe travelling abroad also might be easier. Yet I'm worried I'll have to wait in line and mingle with all the symptomatic patients? Plus I'm clogging up the system just when the gahmen is encouraging us not to?
The rest of my family has turned in a negative result, which is great. I get to sleep in my own room now, for some time at least, while I do my best to self-isolate.
Even they do not need to register, based on what's instructed on MOH's website here.
And so here I am.
Family and friends have been informed, told all the people I've met in the last few days about this as well.
A little scared, hence I'm penning my thoughts here so I have a dated record of things.
In a way I am quite thankful to have been vaccinated (with Moderna no less!) and have recently also been administered the booster. I would attribute my ultra-mild symptoms much to the vaccine, so good job there SG gahmen! Everyone PLEASE GET VACCINATED!!!
Here's also a nice infographic on the effectiveness of ART vs PCR (not like they are doing much PCR now with such a spike in cases tbh). Source here.
All I hope for now is to turn in a negative result asap, get well and get on with my normal life.
God bless.
HUAT AH!!!
