Elon Musk And Tesla

You know I’ve been fawning over owning a Tesla Model Y for more than a year now.

Despite Elon’s stupid attention seeking antics in the past, I’ve never really bothered much nor let it affect my endearment for a Tesla car.

Even him buying Twitter and using it as a mouthpiece for his stupid thoughts and gaslighting ideas, I’ve not let it affect my wants.

Until now.

First his recent Nazi salute at Donald Trump’s post inauguration event.

Then he did it again.

And now he appears at Germany’s far right party, the one closest to being a Nazi party, to lend his support.

It just doesn’t sit right with me, and from the looks of it, many other people as well. That German Nazi party is a lot of things wrong with the world today. Maybe the world had gone too woke, too liberal. But the way Trump swept the US polls and inspired the swing to the right, is equally scary and ridiculous. Suddenly people are promoting male Alpha conservative lifestyles again, where women are overly subservient to men. Suddenly no one believes in science or facts anymore and can spout nonsense and blatant lies as the truth. Suddenly being always the victim is the way to explain all misgivings in the world.

It is very concerning and I do fear what is to come of the world in the next few years, under the Trump administration. Hopefully it is all bluster and not too much damage is done, but you never know, the world doesn’t need another Putin or Kim Jong Un.

God bless us all!

Anyway back to Tesla. People are now appearing to revolt against Tesla and for good reason.

I’m even wondering if TSLA is worth a short sell now.

And yes I’m not aiming to buy a Tesla Model Y anymore.

Good riddance.

Resolutions 2025

This is really late, but here goes.

The year has started off relatively well.

For the four of us in the family, it is shaping up to be a year of significant changes.

I just hope that it will be net positive for us all in the health, wealth and happiness departments.

So here are my resolutions this year.

1) Average 10K Step Per Day For Whole Year

This one is really difficult. Already we are near end January and I am averaging only 7K the whole month. Anyway let’s see where we end up. This is a combination of three very similar resolutions of similar nature. I’ll just mention them here so I can motivate myself to achieve them all. 1(B) Clock a further run distance than in 2024 (Strava distance of 359km). 1(C) Exercise at least two times a week of an hour each.

2) Lose 3kg (current 85kg)

This one is a little simpler. Exercise more OR eat less. Either way I have to drop my weight so my brittle bones can hold my body up healthily.

3) Earn 100K From Investments

Last year was a weird year. I think I lost money overall but I think I might’ve earned some overall. Hard to put a finger, but it didn’t feel that bad, all things considered. This year, I’d like that to be more certain. Whether it’s my regular stock portfolio, my long term portfolio, my dividend portfolio, or just anything that can rake me some extra dough for retirement.

4) Buy An EV

Hopefully this materializes. We will need to turn in our trusty old Toyota Corolla Altis by April 2026. I’m hoping we have two cars to service the family for a short period. It’d make me feel rich haha, in fact initially I had my sights set on a Tesla Model Y, but after Elon Musk’s Nazi antics and cocky behaviour buying the US presidential win for Donald Trump, I’ve decided to get any EV but a Tesla.

5) Drink Less Alcohol (Max 5 Pints Per Week)

This one looks difficult especially in my new role where I’ve returned to my old role. I’ll really need to work hard to do this if I want to pass this resolution. Let’s see.

Ok there you have it, hopefully I’ll achieve at least three of the five that I’ve set out to better my life this year.

Donald J Trump

Donald Trump is inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States of America tonight.

A new era has begun.

One that promises a lot of fireworks globally.

Let’s see what will happen in the next four years.

No doubt there will be very radical changes and volatility in the world.

God bless us all.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 2025

My first trip of the year is a business trip to KL.

Was nice to see the Petronas Towers lit with the Singapore flag colours out of respect for our PM Lawrence Wong visiting.

Incessant Rain

The rain has been going on for days.

It has hardly stopped.

Went for a jog in the short window this morning and STILL I got totally drenched.

Three Musketeers 2025

 Yup. Still us.

2025.

19 years’ friendship.

Talking about travelling together with our families.

To many more years ahead!

Third Language School

So I learnt that if you took a third language in Secondary school you’d have to come here, one of the few campuses for languages, after school, to attend classes.

Hmm.

Total Running Distance

Look at my total running distance in 2024 captured by my Strava app!

Another resolution here which is to beat that!

Whaley

My one favourite present from my South Korea trip.

Caught this in Hongdae at a games stall that we’d been patronizing for several days. I’d tried the basketball game where you had to sink two out of four balls. It failed every time until the day before we left.

I love Whaley.

Look at how big he is!

Seoul, South Korea 2024 (Third Leg)

Then we came back to Seoul.

This was our longest leg. Seoul is so harsh, the weather is so cold and constantly below zero and yet the harsh winds mean there is little snow.

We stayed in Hongdae for this leg.

Pyeongchang, South Korea 2024 (Second Leg)

After that we headed up the mountains in Pyeongchang which were about three hours away by bus.

Alpensia Ski Resort was our home for this leg and it was beautiful. It’s not Niseko, Japan, but still a good place to ski or snowboard.

I ended up snowboarding for the first half and then skiing the second half of this leg. Fun!

Seoul, South Korea 2024 (First Leg)

Our year end trip was to South Korea in the second half of December.

Started the first leg in Myeongdong and visiting the Gyungbokgong Palace, Gwanghuaimun, and the whole City Hall area.

Here’re some pictures.
