We were at 3838 off Siglap Centre having dinner today and the mee pok lady who’s known me forever was making a lot conversation with me.
So the kids asked why she knew me etc and we got into a conversation about the legendary Siglap Mee Pok Wars!
Actually it’s great that they get to know the history and heritage of this whole area.
It’s even covered in the papers!

In the afternoon, two awesome duck rice stalls offer some of the best local duck rice you can find in Singapore.
In the evening, three zhicha stalls offer some of the best fish dishes. Highly recommended before they go extinct!

It opened not too long ago and these are its two biggest attractions.

The fish is super fresh and soup is super tasty and yummy.
During Covid period, this was our go-to lunch option at least once or twice a week!

Looks like with the new MRT station popping up, this stall is just going to get even more crowded.
Went to the new Temasek Junior College open house a while back.
This new school is in my old JC haunting grounds, the old Tampines Junior College.
Brought back a lot of good memories.
Went for a beer with colleagues.

Was attending some subject banding briefing at my son’s secondary school recently and this was what the air conditioned classroom looked like.
The wifey and kids say I look more stressed out after work these days.
I need to find more ways to help me relax.
Sigh.
Work definitely isn’t easy, but things do appear to be looking up!
So no choice got to work harder!
Maybe need to have my annual health check up soon.
The heatwave lately is so real.
Humidity is so high.
And the nights are so hot and humid.
Global warming is real!
We turn the aircon on in my room almost daily now. Then because the wifey cannot sleep through the night with aircon, I’d have to switch it off around midnight but keep everything closed so the cool air circulates through the night.
Even my girl turns on the aircon in her room more often now.
Only my boy still doesn’t used the aircon because it fucks up his nose.
Hopefully the weather gets cooler soon!
