Rest and recovery from the night gone by.
Had street food.
Massage.
Then it was off to the airport.
Wished the holiday was longer.
Thinking of coming back together once more.

Thailand 2019 Day 2 - Bangkok
Second day was a chill day.
Again massage + tons of Thai food.

Thailand 2019 Day 1 - Bangkok
So it came down to the final 40th birthday celebration trip.
It was to Bangkok with this bunch of secondary school mates.
3D2N.
What fun.
It is day one, and we check into the W Hotel Bangkok.
I had my own single room while the other two shared a double.
Food + massage = heavenly.
At night we also went to the Train Night Market in Huai Kuang.

District Race Singapore 2019
So we were invited as a company to participate in this event for free because it was a 'tech' type of run and we were a 'tech' type of company right?
Anyway we got ourselves 12 tickets with 3 teams of 4 to run the Team Open.
The team I was with was really up for it and it was really fun. From the morning, the District race format was like an amazing race type where teams had to run to different checkpoints and clock points either just by run past them, or doing various tasks. These tasks were relatively simple, like sprinting short distances, taking a photo of something in the area, or answering a question relating to where the checkpoint was.
Anyway we had only two hours and we pre-planned our strategy and took a route that took us all around the Kallang river. See below for the actual route we finally ran.
Actually clocked 15.2km in two hours even with a lot of walking.
Nonetheless it was great event. Organization was fantastic and the app technology worked really well to make the run very interesting for us. Finally the home stretch and end point was very well equipped (maybe because there weren't as many participants as those high-profile marathons) and stocked with water and food.
Oh and the medal was so cool with AR technology!

Fatherhood Reflections LXIII - Homework
Ever helped out with your kids' homework and corrections and then felt the injustice of correct answers being marked wronged?
Check this out below.
Anyway it is not as if I will complain to the school about this and I understand that there is a model answer which the education curriculum is trying to enjoy all the kids learn properly.
But still...
Haha.
Anyway the correct answer was to add more fish in the pond to eat the wrigglers.

Nineteen80 Bar and Club
There is this new bar along Tanjong Pagar which I visited recently.
It just plays on the nostalgia of all of us 80s kids.
Was pretty cool. Drinks were not cheap but all they had these arcade machines with oldies like Street Fighter, Puzzle Bubble, Puzzle Fighter and even Space Invaders which anyone could play for free.
Even the drinks table was an arcade machine!
You can check out their website here.
Oh, and... cassette tapes?! OMG

Fatherhood Reflections LXII - My First Braids
This was the first time I braided my daughter's hair.
The wifey wasn't around as she was overseas, so I watched YouTube and helped my princess braid her hair.
It managed to stay on all the way till night!
So proud of myself!

Teapots
My dad's finally selling some of his teapots.
This is really brave of him, to sell the things that he loves so dearly.
I wonder if I'll ever bring myself to sell my comics and trading cards.

Denmark & Sweden 2019 Day 10 - Copenhagen
Woke up in the morning feeling sad and blah.
It was time to pack up, head to the airport and go home.
We basically had a quick breakfast, then cabbed to the airport.
Again just as we came here, my flight was first this time, while the wifey and kids' flight was an hour later.
I would arrive back in Singapore much earlier, at 6am, while they would arrive at 12pm after their transit in Bangkok.
I picked them up from Changi Airport and we began reminiscing about the trip and how fast it flew by already.
So much so that there are no pictures to show.
Haha.

Denmark & Sweden 2019 Day 9 - Malmo
After seeing the lovely city of Helsingborg, it was time to head off to Malmo.
We checked out early in the morning after buffet breakfast and went straight to the train station right beside and took the 40min train ride down to Malmo. Scandinavia is so well connected by train.
Upon reaching Malmo, we checked our two big luggages in the lockers at the Malmo Central Station and began our tour of the city.
The winds in Malmo were crazy strong!
One of the key highlights was the Malmohaus. It was an old medieval castle that's converted to a museum and aquarium (one more time!).
After that it was off to the Malmo town square. They had a little square and a large square. We walked around for quite some time, followed by a late steak lunch.
Then it was time to head back to Copenhagen.
Again we went back to the train station, took our luggage and headed to Copenhagen, which was a 20min train ride away.
In Copenhagen, we checked into our budget hotel called Wake Up Copenhagen, which was still crazy expensive and small, and then quickly came out to walk the city. It was way better than sitting cooped up in that ultra small room with the translucent shower walls.
I brought the wifey and kids to the city centre, where Stroget was and we shopped around and did some last minute souvenir shopping.
Was quite sad that the holidays were about to come to an end.
Finally had dinner at Sticks And Sushi (where it all began?) again! And even celebrated my son's birthday. All this overlooking Tivoli Gardens. Love my son so much. Hope the wifey and kids appreciate this whole trip which was so fun.
It was so nice and memorable.
