Osaka Day 4, Japan 2022

This was why we came to Osaka - Universal Studios Japan (USJ)!

From the early morning, we trained to the nearest station to USJ and hurried to the gates. It was already open by the time we got there, and was beginning to get crowded, so we quickly hurried in. Luckily we bought Express passe, which gave us a timetable of the most interesting rides.

The first area was the Snoopy, Peanuts, Seseme Street kids area. We quickly realized it was for small children, so we were out of there after a few quick pictures.

Then lo and behold, it was the famous Harry Potter world. What a splendid place to be in. Really felt like in the movies where they recreated Hogwarts Castle and the town of Hogsmeade. We even bought wands for ourselves - Wei got Harry Potter's wand, Xin got Hermoine's wand, while I got Voldemort's wand. These wands allowed us to go on an interactive tour to cast spells. Super cool touch! then we went for the rides in there as well, which were cool.

Then we took the Jaws ride. It was quite fun. Apparently the guide kept telling not to take photos but I didn't comprehend. It was like one of those action movie type of rides. We ended up eating a Jaws hotdog which was so cute!

Afterthat it was the Jurasic Park ride The Flying Dinosaur! This was the best ride by far, of all the rides. Even the kids said so. It was a loopy super rollercoaster ride and it had the longest queue! We actually came back for this ride one more time in the evening!

Thereafter it was to Minion Park, where everything was based on the Despicable Me movies and cartoons. Again everything was cutesy and all. The rides were pretty cool too.

We subsequently took the Hollywood Dream ride which were two different rides, one forward and one backwards, called Backdraft. Also quite fun and I'll always remember Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" blasting in my ears during the ride.

Bought myself a cute shark head muff. Really cute and still sits on my sofa today.

Then it was off to Super Nintendo World! One of the key highlights for me. The walk into the world was AMAZING! It was as though we entered the video game and everything came to life. We also bought the watch to collect coins too. Sibeh boliao but at least we did it. The rides here weren't that fantastic truth be told, but the whole place was just amazing to soak in basically. We spent a really long time there, basically all our allotted time slot in the ExpressPass.

Then we did the Jurassic Park water ride which is very similar to Singapore's USS version. We were so afraid of getting wet and thankfully we didn't.

As night fell, we went through the whole park again to see the park by night. Super Nintendo World continued to amaze seriously. Watch some Christmas singing and lights show.

Finally called it a night around 8.30pm.

So worth it.

Then dinner at Yoshinoya near our hotel.

What a day!
