Today was all about Kyoto.
We took a short train ride to Kyoto and immediately it felt like we were in some sort of old folks city.
Weird feelings but everyone was just older I suppose.
First stop was taking a bus to Arashiyama to visit the famous Bamboo Forest. Arashiyama itself was very beautiful with the river and all. The bamboo forest was a little underwhelming, because firstly it was super crowded and secondly it was quite small. A quick walk around the park and we were done.
We ended up enjoying snack type lunch at the end of that walk more actually.
Then it was off to the Fushimi Inari Gates.
This was very interesting and quite an amazing sight. We took a bus there and again, walked through the shrine respectfully. There were thousands of those gates! So cool for photo-op!
Finally we went for our one and only sushi/sashimi dinner. It wasn't spectacular but still nice nonetheless.
And we visited a mochi store just near our hotel and tried some super expensive mochi which were delicious!
