Sensitive Issues

wah...alot of things can't seem to blog lately, wait people who're not supposed to read it read this then die...haha

oh on things that are safe to blog about, i was at nkf recently for a health check-up. for hte record, i'm perfectly healthy except for abit of borderline high cholestoral level. which means i gotta eat less fried food, seafood, eggs...wah xianz listen to that china woman tell me about everything i like i shouldn't eat sure made me cringe. still, better eat healthy while young lah. ended up donating an additional $1/mth to the nkf for my effort. darn it, i knew there was a catch to all that free health screening. somemore the guy who persuaded me(good lord i swear he's gay) was a filipino. does the nkf employ that many foreign talents as customer service officers? maybe only they can tolerate the unruliness of us singaporeans...or maybe the old folks. anyway that gay dude used to be from citibank and somehow he knew that i work in stanchart(must've peeked at my applicaiton form) so he was babbling about how tough the bank industry was and how hard you have to work...then i asked him if the money was good over there(since as far as i know citi pays the highest for all positions in banking), then he revealed that hte citi he worked in was in the philippines. wah lao eh! how to compare! didn't know philippines got citi. but then again its so americanized there that i think should have lah. haha.

ok so that story wasn't so funny after. but i got high cholesterol so pity me and laugh abit can?

bro's back from taiwan. sounds like he had a great trip. oh i'd love to go taiwan for exercise again if i could. haha. such fun we had, trekking up the hills of southern kaoshiong with full battle order, in those little close-knit teams that we had where you could talk about everything and anything under the sun. haiz...

our kitchen's getting a renovation! about time too after so long. how long's it been? almost 20years? wow. can't wait to see it when i get back later.

i dunno what i'm still doing in office even though i'm on half day. my day ended at 2pm. i was shifting tables from the table by the pantry to the table by the tree. the office resident plant that is. damn lousy sway-bong spot. everyone who sits there ends up quitting(a sign perhaps?). and the ceiling light shines so bright directly down on the table that its giving me a headache. dammit. and its the spot where they have cheertime meaning the whole world can see me doing all my work in full glory. shucks. means less shares trading and more polite calls. boo!!!

okie enough of an update. juicy stuff can't put up cuz nowsadays if blog too much and name too many names can get sued until drop pants wan. dun pray pray.

OFFice

been very lacklustre lately.

really no motivation to do any better that the minimum productivity required of me. think i'm really just dying to get out of here. sent a couple of resumes out yesterday though i don't see any vacancies at the other banks at the moment. just left a little footprint just in case they might need someone. haha.

at least with regards to life here the worst seems to be over. there are new staff in already though they're still undergoing training. then again more people are quitting. seems like its the normal in all call centers. tsk tsk.

was out with darrell last night. it was actually a really fun night! we went for laksa at katong. geez i can't remember the last time i had laksa in katong. and i had all two bowls of what i ordered. that whole row of shops always claiming to be the original laksa stall. so we ended up eating at no49 laksa. haha. who cares. but was good. tho $3 a bowl abit steep. then we also had a mug of tiger each. tiger and laksa don't go.

shat myself silly this morning.

funnily with darrell there's really alot to talk about. and he's really come a long way since our army days when i thought of him an uncouth ruffian. not unexpectedly he messed up his overseas nus program and he's been contracted to work an extra 6mths for nus to pay off his debt for being the first and only undergrad to ever screw up a scholarship program. smart. then again he had fun and he had the experience of watching his very own start-up crash and burn like a campfire. like i said, there's much to talk about with him. life. our future. and why we think the casi...i mean integrated resort is such a good idea. and its fun talking to him cuz he always asks the weirdest questions that require a smart answer. how entertaining. anyway we ended the night off with an arcade session at e-zone. yes the one i've been training diligently at in parkway parade on that star wars racer thingy gamey.

i think my cover letter's really difficult to write. thankfully got fiona my trusty buddy to keep mine when she was applying for her mindef thingy. so i'll check it out at home later. hope i receive it.

watched eye for a guy last night. it as horrendous. i this denise keller is the cocky one. sure that cocky-guy-whadzisname was abit cocky, but the show is really made crummy by the poor selection of the girl. sure she's chio lah, but knn what i wanna see are guys falling in love and ACTUALLY thinking they've got a chance to get into a relationship with her mah. now this season its so friggin' obvious every ugly contestant(they all are)except one super ultra moron gentleman(who said he'd like single beds if he were to win the europe trip with her) just wants to get into her pants at all costs and then thats it. wham bam thank you mam kinda thing. haha.

but denise sez that there is a super super super twist this season that according to one contestant, is akin to finding out that denise keller is lesbian. fuck lah i mean how twisty can this crap show be? at most we find out that the contestant shaun is actually dj utt in disguise and that utt and her are already married! wah that would break many a little boy's heart.

okie 'nuff said. still i'll probably watch it anyway. haha. what a twit.

Standard Chartered Sevens

gosh.

this is the most happening event i've been this year. and thats not to say that i've got no life.

wow.

exhiliarating.

so fun!

so exciting!

major pts:

great party atmosphere.

lovely goodie bag.

didn't spend a single cent.

lotsa dancing.

new zealand won.

lotsa ang mohs with spgs in hand.

singapore lost every game...

singapore didn't score a single point...

only time everyone got to cheer for singapore was when one of our players crossed the halfway line...

that poor guy who did got tackled so badly he never played for the rest of the tournament...

only players who were tackled and never got up were singaporeans...

everyone cheers for singapore...

out of pity perhaps...

some ang moh claimed that the singapore rugby team was a makeshift team assembled the day before the tournament...

everyone loves samosa...

everyone hates france...

Crows

haiz. work sucks. everyone around me is quitting like they were escaping from the plague lidat. there's so little people in office these days that even during normal office hours the place looks empty. and the reinforcements are slow in coming in. sheesh. and thats bad news for us cuz we gotta bear the brunt of the high call volume. terrible terrible.

i wanna quit.

i hate shift work.

i hate servicing.

boo hoo.

i wanna quit.

well among other things there's also a psycho in office. but i'll reveal more when everything's resolved. meanwhile all's well.

i think i've had a really crappy week. been feeling like crap all week though i can't really pinpoint a single particular event that made it all crappy. thing everything in general is crappy at the moment.

shite.

this morning as i walked to vjc for saturday b-ball there was a pair of black crows flying overhead of me. at first after i walked past the first tree they were at, they squawked and flew lowly overhead to the next tree in front of me. then after i walked past the 2nd tree, they squawked and flew lowly overhead to the next tree in front of me again! and this happened for 4-5 trees and i was getting abit weirded out. so i stopped right at the exit of neptune court by which time the next tree was across the road liao. then i stared at the two friggin' birds. i think for like a minute. just stared. i was quite irritated, determined to shout at them if they tried hat stunt for the next tree across the road. but then when i crossed the road they didn't follow. how weird.

black crows are a bad omen.

then i was having lunch with yipeng shiwei jeffrey and jinde at simpang bedok. dunno why so suay bong. just when the food came this bird shat onto the back of my shirt. knn. xianz. the only good thing i can make out of this was that luckily it didn't shit on my head OR my food. fucking bird.

thx yipeng for helping me wipe that crap off my back.

i went to buy 4d buy 1508 which was the exact time the bird crapped on my shirt...according to yipeng. but never dio leh. xianz.

tomorrow will be going for the standard chartered sevens finals. hope it doesn't rain. i wouldn't be going if it weren't for the free tix they give to staff. hope its good.

hope i don't get crapped on tomorrow.

Details are too horrifying to be printed.

Those who already know, be careful.

Those who don't, don't ask about it.

Watch this space.

Library @ Orchard

am at the orchard library right now. feels like the days when i was in the usa blogging in libraries. nothing much going on at the moment except that i'm waiting for genia to be done with work since we're supposed to meet up for dinner. been awhile since we last met up.

life is good at the moment. haven't really felt the effect of shift work yet though i've officially begun. the whole week i'm on 8-5 am shift. means waking up half an hour earlier every morning. might seem a little but half and hour makes alot of difference to me somehow. i seem to be more tired(cuz i sleep late) leh. but good thing is i leave earlier too. and these days there's little after-hours work to do so thats a good thing.

haven't been doing much lately thats worth blogging.

new manager Valerie is pretty okie. i mean she's pretty and quite okie. and since we had an argument over an escalated case before where i gave her a piece of my mind while she was still only a service manager(lousy name for senior consultant), she's been pretty nice to me eversince. and somemore coupled with the fact that i get things done pretty ok-ly, therefore there's really nothing for her to be displeased with me about. in fact she seems kinda stressed since coming into this role and having to fill patrick's huge shoes as well as patrick's desk right beside me. so far, she's been alright.

got bao toh-ed yesterday when we looked through our end-day call numbers. and there i was ranking pretty decently and sitting pretty until val pointed out that i had the highest after-call time(ACW) + auxiliary time(AUX) in the whole contact center. now,

ACW + AUX = rest time, time NOT taking calls and blah.

and while its normal to chalk up a total of an hour plus in ACW+AUX time, my timing was through the roof at 3hours plus. which effectively means i rest ALOT. hmm. darn. never thought they'd catch me.
