True Fitness Session V This Season

Wanted to go for Spin class today to train for OCBC Cycling this Sunday. The class was full so ended up cycling on the stationary bike.

Half an hour later I managed to clock 15km. This means I will complete this Sunday's 42km in approximately 1.5hrs?

Excited!

RVP Wonderstrike

Still can't get enough of his goal on Monday.

Watch it here.

Absolutely amazing. This is definitely goal of the season for me and is up there with THAT Wayne Rooney wonderstrike in 2010.

In other news, Dortmund thrashes Real Madrid 4-1! Wow!

Looks like its gonna be an all-German final!

Bayern Munich 4 Barcelona 0

Sometimes it is true that you need to experience a terrible loss before you can find the necessary strength to go to the next level.

Last season, Bayern came in 2nd in their league, FA Cup equivalent, AND the UCL. The UCL Finals loss to Chelsea was especially painful I'm sure, given that they were playing in their our home ground, AND were the dominant force who were expected to wipe Chelsea out.

And look what they've achieved this season. Having won the league with 6 games to spare, in the finals of the DFB Pokal (FA Cup equivalent), and now a 4-0 first leg lead in the semi-finals of the UCL.

Lesser teams could disappear into oblivion. But just like Manchester United, they have that "We will never die" spirit.

In 1999 we won the treble. Having scored 2 goals in the extra time to win the UCL over Bayern, that could have crushed them to bits too. But instead they came back strong to win the UCL 2 years later.

This type of winning mentality is why I love such teams and why I love Manchester United.

In Your Face Haters!

65 years back when 8 United players died in the Munich crash people said that our dreams have been shattered and that we’ll never rise again.

19 years back some Scousers dismissed our 8th premier league title, they told us to come back when we have 18.

9 years back when Arsenal went undefeated, They said United would never be the same again.

7 years back when Chelsea had won back to back titles, They said 19 was just a magic number.

4 years back when Ronaldo left, they said it’d be the beginning of the end.

1 year back when Manchester City won the title on the last day on goal difference, they said Manchester will never be red again

But here we stand with now a record “20 -T W E N T Y” titles, better than anyone else

It's been a long wait.

Really.

An 11-month delay.

Just when we thought we had it last year, it was taken away when we crumbled last season. It was so bad, I didn't even bother a post season post to pencil in my horrible thoughts.

But this season, we really made it ours.

With 4 games to spare somemore. A full 16pt lead. Now our only aim is to better the EPL record of 95pts set by Chelsea in 04/05.

Last night's 3-0 win against Aston Villa was not only a great result, it was a great way to win our 20th EPL title too! RVP scored a hat-trick to top the top scorers charts.

What more can a fan ask for?

Glory Glory Man United.

Totally elated.

Suarez The Rat

This is simply hilarious!

Last night during Liverpool and Chelsea's game, Suarez bit Ivanovic in the 73rd minute.

The guy just cant keep away from controversy. In the game alone, he gave away a penalty, bit an opponent, and then scored a 97th min equalizer.

Om nom nom!

Tottenham Hotspurs 3 Manchester City 1

Why does this game matter? Because we're 13pts ahead with 5 games to play!!! Whoot!

Spurs looked like they were gonna lose after a very early Samir Nasri goal. Somehow a 5 or 6 minute spell around the 77th minute suddenly changed the whole outcome.

First Clint Dempsey scored, then Defoe and then Bale, all in quick succession. Quite amazing if you consider how tight the Man City defence had been leading up to this game.

I was so sure City would win that I bet $150 on a simple win. But it's money I'm happy to lose now that we are one win away from our 20th title.

Let's beat Aston Villa tomorrow!

West Ham 2 Manchester United 2

Sigh.

Dunno if it's two points dropped or a lucky point earned away to West Ham last night.

We haven't been very good in our games lately. With five games remaining, we will just need to win two and the title is ours. Or to drag the anxiousness further, we could also win one more and draw two, and win on superior goal difference.

We have got Villa at home (W), then Arsenal away (D), then Chelsea at home (L), Swansea at home (W), WBA away (D) left to play.

That's right, as you can see, I don't have much confidence right now, but even then, we'll probably still nudge past the finish line. Hopefully our results don't get worse than what I've predicted.

And that's to say City has to win their remaining six games as well. They are flying high right now but hopefully they can drop at least two points to gift us the title. Last night they struggled to beat Wigan 1-0 at home so it might be a good sign they're running out of steam. Problem is I can't really see where that's going to come from, so I've taken to betting $50 for a City win in every game till the end of the season. Winning easy money always eases the heartaches.

Well done to RVP though, his scoring spree has begun again. Kagawa also deserves a mention. It is this season's new boys who're pushing us across the finishing line. DDG has had a splendid season as well so I hope they win the title this season. It will be a memorable one for them.

Rooney to PSG done deal? Dunno what to make of that but I'm not gonna be very upset given what he did to the club in 2010, here, here and here (I actually devoted FOUR blogposts to his silly saga). Hopefully we will strengthen our squad in midfield though. I hope Chico and Welbz stay to continue their good work for the club.

Stoke City 0 Manchester United 2

Happy with the win.

And happy for RVP who finally scored again. Hopefully he will begin another scoring spree.

I thought Kagawa and Rooney did well in midfield.

15pts clear with 6 games remaining. 2 more wins and we will have won it technically.

Feeling great as we edge closer and closer to number 20.

This is how you insure yourself against another last minute choke by Manchester United.

Tough derby loss last night against shitty.

Still we should see this season out comfortably.

USDJPY 2013

Probably will end the year at 110.

Have seen it rocket from the late 70s to the present 99 level.

Can you imagine if you had bought a standard lot (100,000) of USDJPY back when it was dwelling at 78? Right now you'd be in the GREEN by a nifty USD21K!

Still it's doubtful many people caught the full ride up.

Welcome to the new normal of quantitative easing.

One FC MMA

Last night's fightcard and action was one of the best I've ever watched in my years of watching One FC.

Shinya Aoki must be one of the best fighters in Asia!

True Fitness Session I This Season

After a one year hiatus, I've joined the gym again!

This time with a bunch of younger, fitter gym rats (hopefully!).

Here's hoping that I'll make my gym membership fees worth it!

Total cost for the one year membership is $1037.

Last Wednesday, was my first BodyCombat session in awhile.

Luckily I still have the chops.

Haiyah!

Banks These Days

They give you a credit card credit limit way more than double your monthly income.

It's so scary to think how such unsecured credit can so easily be derived these days.

Even the risk averse are put at risk with such high limits in the hope that people will be tempted to spend and swipe, coupled with all the latest credit card discounts and gimmicks.

Once they do, the banks then hope a certain percentage of users will roll their debt and pay the minimum sum, thereby accruing their debts at up to 24% per annum. Quite comparable to a loansharking, actually.

And that's how banks make a chunk of money of credit card issuance.

Be careful out there.

Candy Crush Saga Completed

Nothing like completing the whole game in order to stop the addiction once and for all!

And talk about finishing with a bang!

Until new levels get developed.

Sweet!

Divine!

Ouch aux Français

This is gonna suck if you're currently a PSG player.

You can almost hear Zlatan Ibrahimovic screaming from way over there.

Speaking of which PSG actually managed a 2-2 draw against Barcelona in the Champions League yesterday. Impressive.

Out Of FA Cup

So there goes our Double dream as well.

Yet somehow I don't feel so bad.

As long as we win #20 even on goal difference I don't care.

At least we have the league. Which was what we needed after last year's heartache.

GGMU!!!
