Chinatown During CNY

Braved the journey to Chinatown today.

It's been awhile since I've been there.

Was so crowded! 人山人海!

Glad the kids loved it.

Mega Obstacle Course

The girl had some exclusive one-on-one time at Taekwando lesson today.

I could see the instructor himself was have fun building the obstacle course for her too!

Check it out!

Manchester United 0 Southampton 1

Wow. I was booing so loud in front of my tv that LVG could hear me!

1 single shot on target all game, at home, one touch of the ball in the box between both strikers, OMFG!

Booooooo!

As much as I blame LVG, the players all sucked man. The only one close to playing well was our youngster, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson. That's it. And he was substituted.

CAIA Toast

Putting in some much needed study hours to make up for the lack of studying over the course of a busy previous week.

Jogging For Life

Looks like I've found my life source.

Suddenly I'm healthy again and breathing well again.

All thanks to 3 jogs/swims in 6 days.

Exercise really does unclog those arteries it seems.

Shortness Of Breath

Been having shortness of breath for about a week now.

Perhaps the inactivity since my ACL surgery is finally taking a toll on my health.

Maybe it's my persistently high cholesterol and blood pressure levels.

Maybe it's my terrible carbohydrate and sodium-content diet.

Maybe it's the pressure and stress from daily work, at home and my studies (damn you, CAIA Level 1!).

At its worst (maybe last Wednesday), I was spending a whole day just trying to take in deep breaths and yawning just to breath in deep. I read that these were signs of a potential heart attack onset.

Even had to take a couple of asprins the other day after I read that they help dilute blood going to the heart. It actually helped.

Sadly I missed my free comprehensive health checkup last year because I was too busy. Need to remember to go this year.

So I started exercising almost every other day. Either I did the HIIT or I went for a 10-lap swim. Ankles still preventing me from jogging.

Will have to start watching what I eat as well. Less junk food like potato chips and fast food. More nuts, fruits and vegetables.

Don't think I'm ready to die yet. If things get worse I'll go see a doctor.

Manchester United 1 Sheffield United 0

Paul Scoles called it like it really is. The players looked bored and the play was terribly boring.

I switched the tv off at halftime.

We needed a 94' penalty to win.

2 shots on target all game.

I will probably cease my Singtel Mio EPL subscription next once the contract ends. I even told the Singtel sales staff who called to offer a renewal that my decision hinges on Manchester United's play in the near future haha.

Manchester United 2 Swansea City 1

Finally a win!

If LVG can continue playing this way, high pressure and high intensity football, then he can stay awhile longer.

Still it was a nervy ending and we relied on a moment of brilliance from Wayne Rooney.

Now let's climb the table!

GGMU!!!

Resolutions 2016

So Resolutions 2015 didn't go all that well. See review here.

Nonetheless I will stick to some tangible resolutions to keep myself focused for the year ahead.

1) Have 6 Month's Pay In Cold, Hard Cash
Here we go. Yet again. Less money in investments. Seriously.

2) Achieve $500/mth Dividend Income Stream
This resolution is exactly the same as last year's. Which is exactly the same as the year before too! In fact I just copied and pasted it. I have had an overall decrease in passive income stocks PLUS I didn't achieve even half of this target last year! So how am I gonna achieve it this year? Dunno. But setting an ambitious target is what resolutions are all about right?

3) Exercise Twice A Week
Yet another repeat resolution. This is really for my own health reasons. Really hope to have enough discipline to achieve this. Might need the wifey's help for this.

4) Score One Big Positive Life Achievement
Do something positively big. Change the world. Achieve something big in my life. This is a new one and something I hope that when I look back in end 2016, I can happily say I achieved something significant in the year. It could be passing CAIA Level 1. It could be making a big difference to someone else's life. It could be a personal achievement. Anything.

5) Less Online Games, More Time With Family
This is gonna be hard. With the toils of work, I still maintain one Simpsons Tapped Out account and THREE Clash Of Clans accounts. That keeps me busy alright. On one had its a great hobby to have, but I will have to balance things out so that I'm not glued to my electronic devices all the time.

Ok, hope I can achieve all of them come year end!

Hello 2016, Goodbye 2015!

Wow. How fast 2015 passed.

It hasn't been the best year in many aspects, but it is overall a satisfactory year. The year started off with my finances being hit very badly. Then I had my very memorable Shanghai stint. And then it was all about consolidation thereafter.

Certainly not a bad year, but as you can see below based on the resolutions of 2015, it hasn't been that good either. So here's to hoping that 2016 will bring in more cheer, good health, wealth and prosperity!

Here's last year's review.

And here're 2015 resolutions early on one year ago.

The review:

1) Have 6 Month's Pay In Cold, Hard Cash FAILED
Truth is, after getting hit by THIS EVENT, I totally wiped out a very huge chunk of my savings and investments. It will take awhile to get back to the same level, but I believe with perseverance and determination, it will be done and surpassed.

2) Achieve $500/mth Dividend Income Stream FAILED
Again, another failure here. Maybe in 2016 this might be possible once more.

3) Exercise Twice A Week FAILED
2015 was the year I went back to futsal. It was also the year I suffered more injuries. The latest one being a pretty bad ankle injury which has kept me out eversince. I mean I probably can go back to the pitch but I am honestly comtemplating retirement. It also means I don't exercise anymore :(

4) Spend Even More Time With Family FAILED
Considering my 3 month Shanghai stint, I consider this a failure. However things have gotten alot better and I think 2016 will be better. I think we also made the right choice regarding that HUGE decision to relocate. Obviously with the benefit of hindsight.

5) Maintain Social Circle PASSED
Hard to measure but I'll give myself a pass on this. Still making the effort to catch up with old friends. Even got to be brother for a very good friend's wedding.

There you have it. Not a good year on the resolutions front, but I think I signed off the year pretty well and things are looking on the up. Stay tuned for Resolutions 2016!
