Found out alot about my own ancestry today.
I am the 28th generation of the 蓝 family. My grandfather was of the 26th, my father the 27th, and my kids the 29th.
This means that the 蓝 sirname has existed for more than 700 years! Back to during the Ming dynasty!
My paternal grandfather was from Dabu County (大埔县), which is a district of Meizhou, Guangdong province of China. To narrow it even further, he was from HuLiao Township (湖寮镇). Read more here!
