The End Of CB

The Circuit Breaker (CB) is finally ending.

We can leave the house a little bit more often from next week.

While our offices remain shut (WFH arrangements), schools will reopen.

More and more restaurants are reopening, although it is takeaways only.

Some other facilities and amenities will also reopen soon.

I'm feeling a bit bittersweet about this.

I have enjoyed this CB period tbh.

WFH has been quite efficient.

A lot of money is saved (don't count those that I gambled away in the markets).

Wifey's cooking is something to truly enjoy.

Lots of quality time spent with the kids.

All super valuable.

Hopefully we can keep this up for longer, while we slowly reopen as a society.

Our Little Plant Nursery

The wifey is developing green fingers during this CB period.

Look at the plants she's now gotten in our balcony!

Luckily all are not very high-maintenance but our balcony can get a little windy sometimes, and worse still there are times the upstairs neighbour waters their plants and it drips down into our balcony, messing up our plants!

Sakuraya Fish Market Dabao

With CB measure, all we can do is dabao if we wanted to eat outside food.

The wifey went out to dabao Sakuraya Fish Market the other day with mostly our favourite standard fare.

So delicious to be eating sashimi and japanese food after so long!

Football Is Back On TV

Football stopped when almost every league in the world stopped because of COVID-19.

So recently when the Bundesliga aired its first matches live on TV once more, it was a welcome sight.

It is so weird to watch stadiums with no fans or crowds and other social distancing measures.

And no, the English Premier League has not begun.

I miss watching Manchester United play :(

Running At ECP

In this COVID-19 Circuit Breaker environment, I have hardly gone out of the house.

The only time we go out is for an exercise, or to go to the supermarket for supplies.

Even for an exercise, I preferred to jog around the premises of my condominium, which is a rather large compound.

So the other day I decided to job my 10km route for the first time in more than three months.

It was nice to see the grass has grown longer everywhere, although everything else remains largely the same.

Beautiful and therapeutic as always!

That Marathon Toenail

Each time I have completed a marathon or half-marathon, my left toenail goes white and dies and drops out.

The whole time taken for it to grow white (then have algae growing within, which is gross), get cut off and then slowly grow back, is approximately one full year, till the next marathon.

Haha.

This has happened from three consecutive years.

If COVID-19 measures are relaxed, I might go for a fourth this year.

Let's see.

Somewhere Over The Rainbow

For the first time, we saw a beautiful rainbow from our balcony.

What a beautiful sight!

Saxo Pub Quiz

With Circuit Breaker, we started doing Saxo Pub Quiz nights on Fridays of alternate weeks.

The first one was conducted by myself and Shiqi.

The second one I joined with a team of players who did not participate in the first one.

A lot of laughter, a lot of healthy and fun banter.

Such is the new normal, but what hilarious fun.

We have to make do unfortunately, but this is as good as it gets to corporate team bonding.

Highlight from the second edition was Eugene's super funny take on this Tik Tok Siren dance challenge.

Pity I can't load the video in this blog :)

Full Flower Moon 2020

On 7th May, the moon shined so bright it looked beautiful from the balcony.

A bit more research showed that it was the Full Flower Moon or a supermoon.

Read more about it here.

What a beauty.

Work From Home Setup

I have been WFH for quite a lot of weeks now.

This is the setup I have at home, which I like a lot.

Almost entirely sponsored by the company.

Really makes working from home more luxurious and the preferred option now.

Our Little Helpers

We have never had a helper or a maid.

That means the house chores and taking care of the kids are done fully by the wifey and I.

The wifey has taken the chunk of the daily chores and tasks.

I try to help out with laundry and cleaning.

Now during the CB I tend to handle the after-meal dish washing as well as the laundry.

Most importantly, the kids have been trained well to help out here and there, which is a great help as they grow older.

They can handle more and more tasks :)

So thankful for their presence in our lives.

Wifey's Delicious Cooking

During CB period, the wifey's cooking talent has come to the fore.

These are good times to appreciate.

There is truth that good food is one of the ways to a man's heart :)

Circuit Breaker Weight Loss Program

Managed to lose weight during Circuit Breaker due to a combination of healthy food cooked by the wifey, and more exercise.

I think I run more than I did before.

I also think I eat healthier food plus less alcohol, oil and sugars.

Finally dipped below 80kg for the first time in maybe 10y years?

A Visit To The Zoo

Before CB happened, we decided to take a trip to the zoo.

It hasn't change much at all since my childhood days.

But kinda glad to visit each time.

Running To GBTBE

Back in early April, the wifey and I decided to run a very long evening run.

All the way to Gardens By The Bay East.

Look at this beautiful sunset taken from the Tanjong Rhu pedestrian bridge along the ECP.

WFH Team Photo

WFH has been quite efficient, even if we're not at 100%.

We rely on Skype meetings a lot now, but it does show that a lot of our daily work can be done from the comforts of our own home.

Here's the latest team photo.

CBD Is A Ghost Town

This is how much of a ghost town the CBD is right now.

90% of CBD staff are WFH.

Homecooked Food During COVID-19

Wifey has been cooking most of the time these days since we are perpetually at home.

Here are some pictures. They taste quite ok.

Getting Tired of Blogging

Not sure if it is the COVID-19 situation.

Not sure if it is the CB (Circuit Breaker).

Not sure if it is the WFH (Work From Home).

Not sure if it is staying at home and having nothing exciting to talk about or look forward to.

Getting a bit tired of blogging about my life.
