still in office. waiting for julian so that can go for dinner. abit jaded now that the new scorecard criteria is out. is getting harder and harder to earn incentives and we also gotta work harder than ever. which sucks. alot of people are unhappy about the new scoring system. some things will haveta make way. shite. even the seniors around me are thinking of petitioning or protesting. haiz. hopefully something will happen soon, can't stand to have so many jaded people around me. still keeping a positive attitude overall though. am already on song to hitting my incentive target for this month as long as nothing goes wrong. today's been an alright day.
nothing much else goes on in office. these days lunch is just talk about where we're heading to next, plotting to get outta here and move on once we've gained enough "experience" points. seems like everyone has a plan. a plan or path to mvoe on once each individual feels his or her time in this place is up. not like its a bad environment, but over here the only way to surge up is to ship out and ply what you've gained elsewhere. seems everywhere else is more appreciative of the efforts and skills we have. so says those who have gone. maybe the grass always only looks greener on the other side of the fence? who knows. i'll find out when my time here is up...
had sakae again with chun yesterday. think i eat sushi too often. but can't help it lah. its a crave. anyway we shared the 1-2persons yusheng which was really alot, and it was actually quite good. i would recommend it to anyone, but just order the small size one, just $13.80. it feeds 4, no kidding.
anyone knows where jade cinema is? from shaw organization wan.
sunday had an impromptu gathering at tsen yeow's place. quite alot of people considering it wasa last minute jio-ing. won abit at bun luck. thomas was the big loser of the day. poor chap, go his house, eat his food, take ang pow from his mom and then win his money. haha. so everyone left happy.
had a good chat with daniel. that mortgage consultant in hsbc is doing good. but seems like everyone's got bad stuff to say about the bank they work for haha. what a joke.
anybody wants to apply for a standard chartered credit card? manhattan card? zouk 1-for-1 all night leh, dun pray pray...3 years free annual fee waiver. haha.
okie time for dinner liaoz.

It's Only $80 Lah!
haiyoh. that was obviously a typo. so yes, it was only $80 lah...not treats blah blah.
this year cny holidays came and went like the wind siah. and the signatory auntie phrase has finally changed even though its none the better. previously was "wah ni zhang gao le"(my, you've grown taller yet again, my insignificant nephew!)!), which took them 6 good years to realise that i've stopped growing since way back when. and now its "ji shi jie hun"(when are you getting married, you poor sod?!, and i'm like, aiyah still early lah i'm still young, not so soon, yadda yadda yadda and isn't that my much older cousin who's ALSO not married? why don't you all attack him instead?
went to zouk on chu 1, wasn't fantastic, whole bloody place was a sausage factory. think must be the army boyz's only night out where they can cheong on a wednesday. music sucked not to mention. and i had a beef prosperity meal right before the clubbing. big mistake. i was out by the river hong bao merlioning my guts. luckily got my trusty gf there to help me pat my back hand me tissue, unlike some other frens whom i shan't mention names who just sit by the steps laughing at me and eewing and oohing and what i ate for dinner...nonetheless after puking felt okie liaoz. still can send gf home.
have only eaten yusheng once so far this year. i remember last year i ate so much yusheng till i got a sorethroat just from feeding on too much yusheng crackers alone...this year dunno why never got much chances to feed to that. but its okie lah no big deal, i just happen to like yusheng abit thats all.
went to weixiong's place to gamble on chu 2. left some of my gambling money behind when i left. shite. consider it tips for eating most of his cny goodies bah...
constantine was a good show. very male show ala matrix of sorts. adapted from vertigo's hellblazer comics, i thought it was quite a good guy flick that you can leave your brain behind. some people no doubt think too much into such flicks and he asks dumb questions which no one know the answers to. but i'm glad we were part of the luckily few who got to watch the ending credits cuz from the looks of people leaving the theatre i think only 5% of the audience knew there was a special surprise at the end of the credits. turns out that the taxi driver sidekick of constantine became an angel. there's probably gonna be a sequel.
time for breakfast...

Happy CNY Everyone!!
its the year of the cock. so this should be a good year for all the cocksters around us. haha. gonna be another quiet new year. probably visiting on the first day and thats it.
reuniion dinner was fantastic. we ate at the punggol seafood restaurant at east coast. service was terrible, i think they didn't have enough staff and those who worked were clumsy and blur. throughout hte meal food was given in the wrong order or the waittress accidentally spilled the washing bowl liquid/ crab sauce. even splashed crab sauce onto my father's spectacles...
waitress: aiyoh sorry, sorry!
pa: careful, careful, you make my spectacles take a bath in crab sauce!
waitress: haha, sorry sorry(bring cloth and proceeds to drop spoon)
haha, but funnily enough it wasa fantastic dinner. i don't think the last few were this memorable. i think its the first time in a long long time that only the 5 of us(previously sure got an auntie here or an auntie there) ate reunion together. so really minus away all the courteous talk with the aunties and i realise we talked alot more over dinner this reunion dinner. i don't think i've talked so much with everyone as much in previous reunion dinners. so that made this time's dinner quite special. talked about uni life since chuen and fen going into uni liaoz, talked about chuen's upcoming taiwan trip and my own trip previously, talked about chuen's bike riding, talked about uni courses that fen should choose and alot of other things. and even talked about movies since pa claims ma is addicted to movies of late(ma alleges that she's just catching up), and about all the shows we've watched and how we find them. so it was perfect family interraction all round. don't think we've talked this much over dinner for quite a long time liaoz, what with our busy schedules and lives(mine especially). then we strolled back home. meal was surprisingly quite good and filling too. and not like it was super duper expensive.
bought myself a red shirt for cny. think thats the only thing new in my wardrobe. was down in town with some colleagues yesterday. it was some last minute shopping everyone wants to do, the girls especially, dunno why they are so scared they have nothing to wear. in the end found myself a nice red shirt at 77th street at far east plaza. then try on let everyone vett through SQ and comment here comment there and then they decided i should buy it and i guess since i hadn't bought anything then just buy lor. afterall we all received an 480 ang pow from the bank yesterday. how nice.
visiting starts in the late afternoon...gonna nuah at home till then...

Almost Friday
still in office but glad its almost the end of the week though i've gotta work on saturday. this whole week the calls are like crap. i dunno what's gotten into people, everyone's so darn grumpy and impatient. haiz. as shirley mentioned about how this week's customers are akin to the character in harry potter - the dementor - where it saps the soul outta people, these callers do exactly the same to us man. argh. xianz.
anyway on a brighter note i'm currently hooked to the latest version of counter-strike:condition zero. i'm not too good - those with good memory should recall me struggling with my laptop back in 1st and 2nd year. haha but those days it was fun, now i play against bots which are either too hard or too easy...haha but still fun lah.
think besides that there's really not much else going on in my life liao. haha. so no life. welcome to the rat race. thankfully work isn't so boring lah, talk about the excitement of anticipating that every next caller is gonna screw your backside upside down. adrenalin rush siah!

Weekend Whirlwind
the weekend came and went like the wind. haiz. so damn fast. sure wish it stayed the weekend for alot longer. generally spent the weekend with the girlfriend. and a lesson learnt is that when CNY's round the corner, CNY goodies are the perfect marketing tool to get into the girlfriend's family's good books. pistachios! ka-ching! 5 brownie points earned! cashews! ka-ching! another 5 brownies scored! bak kuah! ka-ching! 100 brownie points again! haha. hope they like it.
anyway i'm still on leave this lazy monday. spent the days lazing around the house. tomorrow work starts and for the next 6 months will not have anymore block leave liaoz. oh hark, how fast the block leave doth runneth thru. think thats all i gotta blog for now...

Back-to-Office Thursday
went back to office in the afternoon. thankfully not much rubbish left behind. only problem was our dear ms karen kwei told me that she received a call from a complain customer about some singapore power trolleybag thingy and wanted to know who he spoke to so he could complain about that male sc. so she ran the list of names and when she came across mine the customer said it must be me! zhun bo?! dun recall myself giving the wrong info about sucha simple thing. anyway a further check with her and i found out the customer called in in Nov! wtf! i havent started taking calls in november lor! wah lao so yuan wang can kenna me. anyway patrick says its okie lah wun kenna any daiji cuz i only begun work in dec. wah lao but still, so dumb right to have a random name familiarized lidat. knn.
apart from that the day went pretty normal. enjoy nuahing at home and reading and monitoring stocks and shares. evening went dinner with bro at lagoon. believe it or not he's actually seriously considering signing up for - wait for this - a brazilian jujitsu tournement in singapore. i wuz like, wow. okie. can i come watch? haha.
brazilian jujitsu. geez how many people have even heard of jujitsu? in brazil? fascinating.

balaclava wednesday
spent the morning and afternoon cleaning up the house abit. apparently the bird that left its doo-doo in my house also left a few ruffled feathers flying about.
highlight of the day was lunch with chun! met her after she finished work at dunno-where then drove to parkway to eat at marine parade hawker centre. the life of an accountant during peak is so busy that any time available must be treasured siah. anwyay lunch was simple but nice. very nice.
dinner time was with colleagues at marche suntec! not very chea[ but still quite nice to eat. love eating with steph and june cuz i always get to finish up whatever food they can't finish. muahahaha... i had a garlic weiner and pizza. steph's softshell crabs were pretty good too. then afterthat we all went to balaclava. i like that place. very 'chill'. and the best part is that it looks like hte perfect hangout for ang mohs and spgs, but its not. there were hardly any ang mohs or spgs in sight and everyone seemed local. according to someone, everyone there is from the banking industry, dunno if thats true but i sure didn't feel outta place to say the least. live music was good too. and my god, if anyone of you ever go down you gotta try the infamous 1 pint of hoegardeen that comes in a humongous glass that for people with smaller hands need em both just to pick it up to drink from.
interestingly in the midst of hanging out i got a call from beth and leon asking me to go cheong. block suppers must be getting fucking boring for you guys init? "if you go then we go." win liao lor trying to put the ball in my court ah? well i admittedly did give it some consideration for a coupla seconds but then aiyah since i was so comfy and wuz lazy to drag my butt outta that lovely place...
another time perhaps?
the low point was that jeff confessed to us that he found a job at dbs as a pfc. made me so jealous. i mean not that i detest this job i'm in. in fact i kinda like it what with all the lively interaction with customers and the people around me are all swell and i seem to be impressing alot of people(god knows how easy it is to impress cerain people). but its just that i dun see much prospect in this job and i really don't figure myself climbing the service ladder. its just too taxing in the long run. steph just told me to 'dong' there for another few months till my contract clears before i move on...which does seem to be sound advice. at least tryta clock 1/2 year of experience. and furthermore according to jeff everyone seems impressed if you've grauduated from a stan chart contact centre. so there. clock the experience first then. fuck shit. i supposed in the back of my head when i go back to work will be the idea of quitting liaoz. you can blame jeff for that.
actually took the 36 bus back. felt crappy over the still have to 'dong' so longin stand chart. shite man i dun want to go into the details of jeff's dbs offer but comparatively i know i am capable of doing well in a similar environment as he can thus i don't see why he should be the only one sharing the spoils of this good offer. bloody shite. not that i got anything against jeff, he's 1 helluva guy to hang around with and a good brudder too. dun say dun have we actually got draggeed through outserve together. gotta keep tabs on his work the next coupla months...haha
wonder what's eric the fly doing.

Joe Tuesday
woke up tuesday morning feeling really restless. drove to cold storage to buy some groceries that would make up some part of my meals for the rest of the week. then it occured to me that joe knows how to play squash and should be free at 12 noon. so msged him and next thing i knew i was winding my way around hougang(believe it or not its actually quite well developed) to pick him up and then back to my place for a squash matchup.
naturally i was schooled. no matter how hard i played there's no beating joe when he's in squash mode even though he keeps saying he hasn't played for eons and shit still he's good enough to whip me 4 straight sets though thankfully i didn't lose at kosong. but it didn't matter, i had fun and worked up a real sweat. then we went to swim. real nice to have the pool to ourselves in the sweltering heat. too bad the sauna and steambath were under renovation.
as joe said in his blog, this mynah bird came crashing into my house and shocked the bejesus outta both of us but flying straight into the glass door panel. thankfully nothing was broken. then it hopped around and joe and i went to try to shoo it out when it pooped on my living room floor(the cheek!) and then in fright flew straight into the glass door panel yet again even though this time it was open big big. that bird seriously wasn't too bright and this time it really looked concussed. thankfully it didn't die(it'll sucha bad omen to have a bird fly into my house and die). so i picked it up and put him/her/it on the ledge where it proceeded to take a dump while recuperating. after awhile noticing the paparazzi(me and my trusty handphone) that was upon him, he managed to take flight. and we never saw it again.
afterthat we drove out to hwi kiat and ronnie's shop in bishan. i've been to that area before to eat at the kopitiam. the shop is situated at a pretty secluded corner at the central market area. according to joe the layout of the shop has improved alot since the last time he's been there. didn't seem like a busy day though we got to witness a little girl scolding hwi kiat for scooping ice-cream slowly. haha. what the hey, we even got treated to a lunchbox meal from that dazzling duo. the chicken cutlet was quite tasty, fried by none other than hwi kiat himself and the soya bean drink was good. couldn't hang around long enough for his shop to close, it was only 6+ but maybe we'll go out again thursday.
finally winded around hougang(its really quite impressive, really) and dropped joe off at his place before i got myself lost and somehow ended up in upper paya lebar. but still with abit of quick-thinking managed to maneuver my way back home in less than an hour. haha. it was a fun day spent at least.

Casual Monday
wow.
it seriously has been a long time since i could appreciate a monday without work. talk about nuahing a whole day away man. i can't believe i've still got the rest of the week to do so.
woke up pretty early at 9am, darn bio clock refused to let me sleep further. today was the same. but thats another thing. went to cut my hair at mode. prices are up $12 a cut now with cny approaching. was disappointed i didn't have my hair cut by my fav indian stylist. instead i got one of the two uptight directors of mode. my mom says their cut is more worthwhile(apparently it costs $150 to book them for a cut but only $12 when they're free) but still i rather have my fav indian stylist cuz she knows the cuts that i like, rounded cut above the ear, shaved sideburns, low slope and blah. the moment this director said "shave sideburns not nice" i xianz liaoz. whatever anyway my cut according to someone looks extremely TUT. thanks ah, no chance to attract nubile young things liao.
afterthat went to eat my fav wanton mee with otah at the coffeeshop just outside mode. the uncle damn power siah, got himself in a motorcycle accident liaoz still working hard to sell wanton mee. damn power.
then proceeded to singapore pools to place a cheesy $5 bet each on both home teams of the dunnowhat inaugurral fas/fam champions cup and shit. incidentally both won, mind you. home united won the cup champions cup while preak won the league champions cup. sibeh boliao. today newspaper reports that barely anyone went to watch the matches. so sad. kallang fever die liao.
i also gotta say parkway parade or anywhere else in singapore only has 2 kinds of people about on a sunny monday afternoon - old folks and students. period. no one else. if you're shopping on a weekday afternoon and you don't belong in either of hte categories, better enjoy it while it lasts cuz the crowds ain't getting any better than that, where every single shop assistant has all the time in teh world for you and you can walk a perfect straight line from mph to cold storage without diverting your path for oncoming human traffic. damn shiok.
finally was off to library. borrowed some books about investing and small-cap stocks trading. boliao wan lah. gotta concentrate on finishing dan brown's da vinci code first.
nuah at home till evening it was time to fetch parents and sis to the airport. they going bangkok till fri. was pretty good bonding session. we ate at ajisen ramen. there's actually one at the airport. how convenient. and i get 10% off with my discount card somemore. think i would enjoy shopping in bangkok what with the ample opportunities to buy cheap fake stuff and bargain like a market auntie.
then sent bro back to camp.
chun came over to do some work. then sent her home.
and that was my casual monday.

ok so my life is abit of a bore to blog about, i don't spout the wonders of my enchanting love life and i don't have juicy gossip to tell the whole world(not at this moment at least)...but anyway just to keep up at least one post a day for hte whole of this week, here's a decent conversation as to how times have changed, or have they?
***** says:
hey there
the nuahster says:
hey ya
***** says:
how are u doing?
the nuahster says:

the nuahster says:

***** says:

the nuahster says:

***** says:

the nuahster says:

***** says:
i met a cute chinese guy by the swimming pool
the nuahster says:
and?
***** says:
at the Singapore Swimming Club
***** says:
he swam very near me
the nuahster says::
uh huh
***** says:
and we kept looking at each other throughout the swim
***** says:
he swam hard
the nuahster says:
haha
***** says:
and when he stopped after 30 minutes
the nuahster says:
was that a pun?
***** says:
i mean, we
***** says:
stopped
the nuahster says:
ah ok go on
***** says:
we exchanged glances
the nuahster says:
ph numbers?
***** says:
at the pool wall
***** says:
nope
***** says:
!!
the nuahster says:
shucks.
***** says:
then after the look
***** says:
i waited for him to say hi
the nuahster says:
did he?
***** says:
and he just kept on grabbing his knee, trying to stretch it
***** says:
he and stretch his arms
the nuahster says:
did he?
***** says:
no!
the nuahster says:
he's probly gay
***** says:
i coudl tell he was waiting for me to talk to him
the nuahster says:
oh really..
***** says:
well, that is one thing i hate about guys - they think they are so cute that girls would talk to them
***** says:
well...he looked really sy
***** says:
shy
***** says:
and I liked his look
***** says:
because he looked like a goody kind of guy
***** says:
but after waiting for 3 seconds
***** says:
i just left the pool
the nuahster says:
probly gay then
***** says:
so i think i was the stupid one
the nuahster says:

the nuahster says:
wow mustve been an eternity
the nuahster says:
he's probly younger than u...
***** says:

***** says:
while waiting for him to say something
the nuahster says:

the nuahster says:
maybe he's got this really hot model of a gf liao
***** says:
i mean, it is etiquette right?
***** says:

***** says:
i do think maybe he is younger than me
the nuahster says:
ha
***** says:
i think it is etiquette that men shold say hi to women
the nuahster says:
oh well
***** says:
if they cant find their voices, I sort of think they are hopeless
the nuahster says:
and another one bites the dust..
the nuahster says:
probly
***** says:
but after yesterday, i sort of wondered if sometimes I should find my own voice
the nuahster says:
maybe he wasn't interested in the first place?
***** says:
i mean, no
the nuahster says:
ah
***** says:
come on
the nuahster says:
okie fine. glances thru and thru
***** says:
it was just an obvious deadlock situation where one was waiting for the other to start talking
the nuahster says:
ah accompanied by the stnadard awkward silence?
***** says:
yes
***** says:
u have had that?
the nuahster says:
hmm...i guess it happens..
***** says:
i think it was just difficult for him to open his mouth
the nuahster says:
and hten nothing happens and u think to urself wat an anticlimax
the nuahster says:
and hten u sulk the rest of hte day thinking wat might have been...
***** says:
it was like, I was glancing in his direction waiting for him to say something, he doesnt so i looked right across at the man beside him
the nuahster says:
oh gosh there wasa man beside him!?
the nuahster says:
he's gay i tell ya.
***** says:

the nuahster says:

***** says:
he was defnitely not gay
the nuahster says:
u mustve sensed it
***** says:

the nuahster says:
was he ogling at u?
***** says:

***** says:
all he could see was my face
***** says:
and hair
***** says:
i was in a sports swim suit
***** says:
in the water
the nuahster says:
did u suspect him of admiring any other various part of ur body other than ur face?
the nuahster says:
ah
***** says:
i dont think so
***** says:
he wasnt that kind
the nuahster says:

the nuahster says:
