Everyone looked tired from the international break.
I guess we were lucky to have been up against such a lousy opponent that didn't want to win.
Yet as woeful as Sunderland was, we slowly matched them as the game wore on. By the time the middle of the 2nd half came by, Sunderland was actually dominating!
Geez. Hopefully we play better than this in our upcoming matches.
Nonetheless we're 18pts clear, although Man City are playing now with a game in hand, with 8 games left.
Can't help but feel that the title is ours.

Hitch Quote
Hitch: Life is not the amount of breaths you take, it's the moments that take your breath away.
____________________________________________________
Sara: What should we toast to?
Hitch: Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away.

Money Can Be Earned Back
Many times people use this consolation phrase, and to be fair, it has it's truths.
Other times, the harsh realization of the folly of gambling and 'investing' it all away based on rash and irrational decisions, never fails to come back to haunt.
Never more so, in times when one feels the need for money the most. But of course, money is never enough.
Endless cycles of 'if only' and 'what if' swarm and swim around the mind, relentlessly and imaginatively conjuring thoughts that cannot be put to action, arrested by the harsh bearings of time.
You really cannot regret enough.
Now that it's gone, what can you do?
Only the consolation that you would work harder, invest smarter and spend wiser, ebbs some of that pain.
Effectively, the only way forward is with optimism.
Now that things have come to such a stage, at least you were able to awaken and realize the grievous follies made before.
One thing that you can do is to look forward positively!
Understand that past performance is never indicative of the future!
Grab the new opportunities as they come!
Hopefully, the winds of change are around the corner.

Medan 2013
Looks almost the same as Surabaya doesn't it?
Quaint and serene.
Reminds me of Ipoh, Malaysia, from back in the '80s (haven't been back there for more than 20yrs).

Passed CMFAS M6A
Passed the latest CMFAS M6A on my first attempt!
Was under abit too much pressure to pass, really. Goodness knows how I'd react if I failed. Or the ridicule I'd receive.
Kudos to the wifey and some good study advice!
No more studying please. I can't take such cramming anymore.

Live Octopus Sashimi
Since I'm too lazy to post the video here, this picture should suffice.
Now pretend this were a plate of live earthworms squirming around on cucumber dressing.
Apparently the octopus is dead, but the nerve in the tentacles continue to survive, hence all the squirming and squiggling.
Totally freaked the wifey out, but props for forcing at least three pieces down her throat.
The tentacles still suck on to any surface so the tongue does feel it while you chew real fast!
Yeah, we ate this in Korea. We were lucky to stumble on a restaurant in Dongdaemun serving it.
25,000 won.
Been there, done that.
Check!

Manchester United 1 Reading 0
Wasn't pretty, but a win is a win one more.
Watched the match till almost 4am last night.
1. It looks like we're starting take things a little easy given the opponents weren't top-notch type. Missing were Nani, Kagawa, Rafael, Evra and even Carrick. That said, we still had a very strong line-up.
2. The weak spot was definitely at LB with Alex Buttner playing the whole game. Going by this game, he's definitely not Man U material and I can't see him being Evra's potential replacement. Fabio (on loan now) is much better. Even Reading could see that.
3. RB wasn't much better with Chris Smalling. I love the boy, but he's error-prone and plays his best as CB. Nonetheless his game last night wasn't terrible. It just wasn't as good as what Rafael has made us come to expect of that position.
4. The CB rocks of Vidic and Ferdinand were the reasons for our clean sheet. Vidic in particular was clearing everything Reading were throwing into the box. So much so that DDG had almost nothing to do. Can't remember a notable save from him.
5. Welbeck has definitely come to his own this period. He wasn't scoring goals as a striker would, but his new role of being the wing destroyer/link to neutralise the opponent midfield is definitely flourishing. Somehow he has a knack of harassing and tracking back really well, which is great to see. Expect to see him as a mainstay in this new version of SAF's attacking formations.
6. Ashley Young had another superb game by his standards. Although he seemed to be tripping abit more than usual. Nice to see him more willing to commit to tackles now.
7. Anderson and Giggs bossed the midfield last night. Wasn't spectacular but for all that's said of Giggs' age, that man still has it to compete at the highest levels man. Ando needs a good run of games.
8. Rooney was the link last night. He played pretty ok although you could tell he tired by the 75th minute. It sucks to know he's so good but wasting his talent with all that smoking and marketing distractions he's been up to this season. No wonder the media reports that he's up for sale. And I don't mind it either.
9. RVP is experiencing a goal drought this period. Nobody's really making noise yet because he's still doing alot up front. Hopefully his scoring streak will come back soon.
10. So, with City losing to Everton last night, we're 15pts clear at the top with 9 games to play. You'd think we have done enough to win the league already. Given the way we exited the UCL, winning the league and hopefully the FA Cup will go someway towards easing that pain. 4 more wins and the title is ours.

Seoul, Korea, 2013
Short but fulfilling trip.
We accomplished most of what we set out to do.
- Eat a good Korean noodle
- Visit Myeongdong
- Watch Nantas
- Eat octopus sashimi (OMG we did! Live squiggly tentacles and all!)
- Visit Lotte department store
- Drink shoju
- Chill in a local Korean pub
- Eat Korean BBQ
- Eat kimchi pancake
- Eat Korean fried fried chicken
- Walk that 5km Cheonggyecheon in Seoul
- Visit Gangnam
- Visit Namdaemun
I will admit not all the above were good experiences, but we did it!

Manchester United 2 Chelsea 2
I honestly feared the worst going into this FA Cup Quarterfinal meet with Chelsea after coming off that 1-2 undeserved defeat to Real Madrid.
While it sucks that we allowed Chelsea to come back from 2 goals down, it is important to know that we are still in the FA Cup after another fine performance by DDG.
So heads up, hopefully we are out of the gutter and out of this mini slump.
Had we lost this tie, it would have been devastating. So things may not be as bad.
And as if this is not our toughest run yet, we will meet Man City if we make it through. Haha.
We will never die.

Surabaya 2013
Just back.
Love the 2nd largest city in Indonesia.
Quaint, yet vibrant.
And there are more Indonesian Chinese here too, I noticed.
And things are getting more expensive even over here.
Welcome to Indonesia, the new emerging market, again.

What can I say?
The ref ruined a beautiful game by sending Nani off for an intended high boot.
Sucks to be dumped out when we played so magnificently up until that incident.
But we will never die.

Doing 90 On The Freeway
Xianz.
Was driving along the KPE, nearing the TPE exit when I saw a police car with a cam pointing at the road. Immediately slowed down. Saw the speed limit and by then it showed 50.
I think I was going at 90 at the time I was caught.
Question is, was the speed limit 70 or 50 at the time I was caught? I really dunno.
But assuming the worst case scenario that I was going at 90 in a 50 zone, then I'm gonna kenna a $170 fine and 12 demerit points. Bummer man.
Hoping for the best (not caught at all) but expecting the worst.
Sigh.
