This is getting somewhat lifeless.
Yet another day of trading and packing up stuff. Today we packed boxes and boxes of books. So many books of yesteryear I never thought I'd keep (well, mom kept them for me). Nice to see them again and will be shipping the whole load to the new home.
I've got enough childrens' books to last 10 generations.
Then it was off to Ang Mo Kio Hub to watch Enchanted. Its not too bad. If you're still suffering from Stardust withdrawal and want more of such sugary shows, Enchanted is good enough to satiate that lovey-dovey appetite. I give it 3 1/2 popcorns. Not as good as Stardust but the song and happiness of the show is somewhat worth it. Guaranteed to make any moviegoer smile from ear to ear.
Thats my short post for today (as you can see, I'm getting lazier by the day).

Productive Day #2
Its funny how I find it a chore to blog consecutive days and yet I actually kept a diary from my days in army all the way till just before I started working. Only then did I stop.
Anyway, today was another productive day of packing. This time around mom brought out all my rubbish from the store (all 5 boxes with more to come!) for me to sort and decide what I wanted to keep and what I wanted to throw.
So it was a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Little momentoes, gifts and souvenoirs (lotsa which I had to throw, unless I wanted something to argue about for the rest of my life!), along with my old textbooks, old worksheets and many other rubbish that I never thought I'd keep, all had to be sorted. I also realised what a great poet I once was, what with my assortment of little rhyming 4-liners since secondary school (there's one about Jinde even!) all the way till my university days. Made me wonder where my muse has fluttered to. But I've got enough leftover to fill a little Enid Blyton book at least. After 4 tiring hours, I managed to trim the stuff down by half, all of which I have to move over to my new place.
Afterthat I went out to fetch the dear to meet the hotel fella. So its final. We're picking Novotel @ Liang Court as our wedding venue. It's gonna be on Friday, 10th of October 2008. If you've got suggestions for some other place and date (as most people do), save them for your own wedding. The dear loves it, pillarless ballroom, auspicious date, great package, nice food, the works. Contract's been signed. It happened so fast I don't even remember signing that piece of paper.
It's gonna be quite an exciting time leading up till then, but I would think our next priority is the house, and our ROM, which is coming up in 2 weeks!!! So it feels great to get this monkey outta the way.
Meanwhile, its back to thinking of lala-land. Been thinking about it quite abit. Its not very likely, but the very thought of it gets me all pumped up and excited. I wonder how this dream will be crushed?

Productive Day #1
I'm on a whole week's worth of leave and I'm trying to make the most of it!
Spent the whole morning and afternoon packing my jungle of a table. All my bank statements and transaction receipts were piled in a huge mountain dating as far back as Dec 06! So it was quite hard work and took me several hours just to get them all sorted out.
Then I went out to ECP to JOG! Wow. I was really unfit, but knowing that next week's reservist included an IPPT test, maybe I should just try to pass it at the very first attempt for this year's window? Anyway, I ran for only 20minutes and then took another half an hour to walk back home. Hee...
But I wasn't done! I went to the gym to lift a bit of weights too! So proud of myself. Managed 3 pull-ups (gotta start 'em slow) and 20 sit-ups. Almost died.
Went to Parkway around 9.30 to pay some credit card bills (believe me, they are mounting rapidly). Ended up buying Old Chung Kee curry puffs for everyone at home!
Afterthat I watched episode 3 of Heroes on tv. Awesome stuff.
Haiz, guess that's my kind of exciting day.
*I want to go off to a faraway land!*

Rare Friday
Rare indeed. One of the first few Fridays in several months where I'm not out trying to destroy my liver.
Today a friend told me that I looked less energetic about my job these days. Gone are the days when I had that inquisitive enthusiasm and proactive lets-make-it-happen attitude. And as much as I didn't want to admit it, she was kinda right. Its time to do some soul-searching. Back to the drawing board for now. Maybe I've got too much of other going-ons to think about right now. At least I have a new pilot project to look forward to, albeit being more saigang than anything, but at least I learn more and don't sit still.
For the umpteenth time, please go watch Stardust the movie before it ends its run here. Its just too beautiful a movie to miss. Once again remember to bring that significant other along with you. Ending's a little cheesy though so treat this fairy tale kind.
Tommorrow is our inaugural Saxo Soccer Saturday. It's kinda drizzling right now but hopefully the morning's gonna be fine so at least I can burn some calories on the court. And it does seem like quite alot of people are gonna be there. I even went to buy an extra ball just in case.
Earlier the Dear and I met up with our ROM photographer at Suntec. Nice of him to get to know us before our big day. Even brought him to Pan Pacific to see our suite.
That brings me to our BIG day! Its the 1st of Dec! So fast! Feel abit unprepared. But hey, where is the fun if life were served up nicely in a plate? Now to go online and see how to phrase my wedding vows...
Dec 7th we have our 2nd appointment for exchange of keys. Finally! We can move into our new flat in Sengkang! I've got it all planned out. We're gonna spend the first weekend cleaning our flat till we're tired and fall asleep on the empty floors of our new home!!! Sounds so fun, sleeping bags and all. Maybe we'll have a wall where we paint our own favourite pictures! And then there's the shopping for furniture! Every month we get to buy bit by bit when our pay comes in...hahaha.
K, done ranting. Sun please come out tommorrow morning!!!

Band Of Brudders, Plus One Little Sista @ Dragonfly
Friday night I had the most powerful drinking session of my life.
I think there were like 8 of us guys plus Aly. While we've always looked forward to celebrating the end of the month in recent months (especially so for my regular bros), we totally bumped it up a notch. 9 of us in total and we cleared 5 and a half bottles of Hennessey in Dragonfly. Now thats some serious shit right there! Was home before 1.30am almost totally wiped out, yet still sober enough to walk the puking Gavin almost to his doorstep and Eugene to his gate. Next morning Jinde complains that he can still smell alcohol in my sweat during Street Soccer Saturday.
That was awesome.
Went to the Singapore Science Centre with the dear earlier today. Its been 3+ years since we last went there and the damn place has hardly changed! But we both are curious science nuts as always, so we still had a ball of a time with the science experiments, optical illusions and explanation of how things work.
The Omni-theatre is like oh-my-God archaic and still looks EXACTLY the same as when I first stepped in that dome back in secondary school 14+ years ago. Still the exact same red narrow seats and weird-globe-in-the-centre-that-everyone-wants-to-touch, and even the opening and ending sequences haven't changed! C'mon SSC, time to upgrade!
Afterthat we had enough in us to watch Stardust, as recommended by Aly and Christin. A uber-rare high average recommendation of 4.375 stars/popcorns between them both got me interested. And it really was good! No doubt the ending was screaming cheese all over but still the feel-good good-triumph-over-evil air in the head when you walk out of the theatre just makes the SGD9.50 oh-so worth it.
Go catch it with that favourite someone for that extra 0.125 stars/popcorns worth.
