Trader Interview
This clip's been making its rounds in our office circles recently.
Its hilarious!
If you don't find it funny, then you're probably not from the industry either :P
Seventh Heaven
Can't believe Man U beat Blackburn 7-1 last night.
And I missed the match because I was too tired.
Berbatov scored 5 goals!
Trully amazing.

We Were Young Once
If your parents kept any baby pictures of you, go spend some time looking through them after all these years.
You'd be surprised by the nostalgia.

Polo Boys Fail
Wanted to post a couple of pictures of our Singapore water polo team at the Guangzhou Asian Games. It's super hilarious with our flag's crescent and stars painted across the front and the crescent strategically printed right in the middle.
What a joke.

Just like a spoilt brat.
How long can these acts of provocation go on?
Thanks for dragging the world's markets down, losers.

Amazing Day For The Reds
We beat Wigan 2-0 at home, albeit not very convincingly. Wayne Rooney still looks a shadow of his former self. Chelsea suffer a shock 0-1 loss to Birmingham. But the bigger shocker of the night for me was arsenal losing 2-3 at home to Tottenham. I had already retired to sleep after a tired day when Arsenal was up 2-0 in the first half thinking the win was a foregone conclusion. Must have been one of the greatest comebacks for those lily whites.
So now we sit 2nd on the table level on points with Chelsea. Haha.
We might actually win a couple of trophies this season for all you know.

The Luck Of The Irish
Has run out.
Now they're next to be bailed out.
Who's next?
Portugal.
Then Spain.
Then Italy.
And the EU continues it's slow and painful death.
All I can say is thank goodness we're all the way out here in Asia!
Opportunity in the markets! That's all I can say.
Should have seen this coming when that European banker stood up to confront an American banker during last year's Private Banking Asia forum, to challenge him that the Euro was much worse off than the Dollar.
We're seeing the fight now.
The USD may be weaker now, but it's economy isn't as badly in the dumps as Europe could potentially be.
The fall of the old world is a slow but sure one right now.

Another Comeback
Manchester United are seriously not as good as before, but still we slog and try hard. This was shown in last night's game against Aston Villa where we came back from 2-0 down to draw the game.
Not a bad ending but you start to wonder what might have been if we played with a better tempo from the start instead of leaving it so late. Like SAF said, if we had another 5 minutes, we surely would have won the game.
Sigh.
Our own Singapore Young Lions are even worse. We lost 1-4 to India (land of cricket)! Taking the early flight home even before the official games opening. Aiyoh.
At least Tao Li won us a silver medal in the 100m butterfly. Quite proud of her.
Now just hoping Chelsea and Arsenal both lose or draw their games tonight. Geez, what are the chances man...haha.

Do Or Die Tonight
Singapore 0 Kuwait 2
Ok, it's not like I expected our young Lions to beat Kuwait anyway.
Tonight we play India. We win, we might sneak into the round of 16. We lose, and it's probably over.
Sigh. The Manchester derby ended 0-0. Somehow I don't feel like it's a very bad result.

Guangzhou Asian Games 2010 Football
Singapore 0 Qatar 0
So impressive that it deserves a blog post. Qatar are the reigning Asian Games champions and for Singapore to hold them to a draw, that's not a shabby result.
Given that we're in a tough group comprising of Kuwait and India as well, it is a pretty good start on our part.
I managed to catch the first half of the game and Qatar lacked any bite in truth, while the Singaporeans had enough poise and composure to play a pretty evenly-balanced game.
Now if the results roll our way in the next two games, we might actually find ourselves in the round of 16. Quite an impressive result I would say. All we need is a draw against Kuwait (beatign them is a tall order) and a win against India, and then hope that either Kuwait or Qatar win that head-to-head, and we've got second place!
Go lions!

Resilience
Manchester United thought us all a little lesson on resilience tonight.
Sometimes people expect the highest standards even when you're sick.
Sometimes people simply expect you to win just by turning up.
Sometimes people take it that three points are in the bag just playing at home.
Sometimes people don't except excuses or poor showings because you are who you are.
And when you are Manchester United, everyone simply expects the best. Even with half the first team sick with a virus, the manager himself is sick, there're no midfielders that even Owen Hargreaves has to play(only to pull his hamstring). John O'shea has to go midfield, Bebe has to play as a substitute after just 5 minutes, Obertan gets a full game, Fletcher plays with a rolled ankle, Vidic plays with the virus, and just about everyone else is recovering from the virus.
People still expect the best.
That's why last night's win was especially sweet. To win when you don't play good enough is something not every fan can savour. To still keep trying when the chips are down even when standards get frustrating. To persevere when people are walking out of Old Trafford thinking its another draw and we played shite. That is the true mark of champions and class. Remember, form is temporary, class is permanent. And I'm happy that this so called B team can get it's run of games and experience, especially young guns like Hernandez, Obertan and Bebe. I for one would like to see them as the new generation of stars than for SAF to just splash cash on an established superstar.
Sometimes people throw all sorts of things at us to deny our right for success. More people are happy to slam us down and destroy the things that we work for just so that we cannot achieve what they cannot achieve. But there is no point getting into immature squabbles and retaliations. Life is short, so might as well make the most of the energy in you to pick yourself up, dust your shoulders, learn from the mistakes and keep trying again? Only then can we, achieve respect and success in our lives, with our heads held high.
Another simple page taken off the Man U book.
I'll take a win like that any day. Park Ji Sung is da man! 2-1 win over Wolves with Park scoring in extra time of both halves :)

Sengkang Crowd
It's getting way too crowded here man.
This place should be it's own constituency. Screw Punggol and screw Pasir Ris.
Wonder who I'd vote for this time?

Our other cousin!
Shock of the FA Cup so far, they beat Rochdale in the first time out!
Something to slightly savour :)

Everything With Fries
Just back from a good lunch at its Joo Chiat outlet.
This is a perky little outlet in Joo Chiat near Katong Mall. Apparently its owned by the same owners of Joo Joo and Awfully Chocolate. Settings are very simple and charming.
I had the One Egg soup to start off, and that was really yummy with a crusty egg topped on cream soup. Then the Lamb Burger (I'm not a gLambert fan by the way) which was delicious and you can choose the fries of any flavour. I got the sour cream and onion flavoured fries.
Topped it off with Vanilla Malt milkshake. Malt because htey use Horlicks. Slurp!
I'm so full now I can't sit properly.
Need...some...sleep...
Go try!!!
