Spider-Man: Brand New Day

 Not a bad movie.

Lots of superhero appearances.

But it feels like we are getting primed for Doomsday.

The Odyssey was way better in the cinema.

Was nice to be able to watch it together with the whole family.

The Odyssey

 Just watched this three hour epic at Jewel with the teens.

I thought we all thoroughly enjoyed it.

Especially the teens being familiar with Greek mythology and all.

What a movie, highly recommended!

This was a very rare time we went to the cinema again and boy was it worth it.

Next one with probably be either Spider-Man: Brand New Day or Avengers Doomsday 

The Five Bingo Scrabble Game

 My kids love playing Scrabble over at my mum’s place together with my mum and brother almost every weekend.

On this weekend my mum sat out so I replaced her seat.

We ended up getting five bingos in the game with some record scores!

Physical: Asia

 This show from the Physical 100 series is simply amazing.

This installment features a country matchup version which is even more fun to watch.

Right now the final four are Australia, South Korea, Japan and Mongolia.

So exciting!

Boat Quay 2025

 Just thought I’d leave a footprint here of Boat Quay in 2025.

I mean I’ve been working in this area for over 20 years now.

I frequent this part of Raffles Place extremely often, especially during lunch when I’m looking for some place to eat and chill.

Maybe not so much the river facing side but that is the most famous face of Boat Quay.

Arcade Jackpot

 We were at Cow Play Cow Moo the other day.

Playing this machine where you need to get the ball into one of the holes and you win like 20-50 tickets if you got the right hole.

There was one particular hole which was a jackpot, and my girl actually gets the ball into!!!!

Jackpot and we bank 3,034 tickets!!!!

Being such a mega fan of The Simpsons, I’m just glad I was enjoying the best, wittiest, funniest episodes back in secondary school.

Channel News Asia Money Mind Appearance

 Made a brief appearance on CNA’s Money Mind series.

Was featured giving my opinion to a potential new investor.

It was fun but I really do not like to do stuff like this too often.

So paiseh when they aired the episode in the office!

Johor Bahru, Malaysia 2025

 Had a very short but interesting weekend trip to Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

It was the wifey’s birthday and we wanted to try this as a celebration of sorts.

What we did was take the TEL to Woodlands, then take bus 950 to the causeway checkpoint. After checking through the Singapore customs, we took another bus to the Malaysian customs. And then straight to our hotel, which was just 5min away!

Malaysia is super cheap for us Singaporeans right now, so everything we ate, bought and did, were cheap!

What a great way to spend the weekend!

Saxo Summer Party 2025

 After the DHS reunion, was the annual Saxo Summer Party!

Our parties have become less wild than before because we’re all a little older.

Also gone are the days we partied by the beaches at beach clubs.

This year was in a little shophouse in Little India where we gave out fantastic prizes and played really fun games.

To many more years of Saxo partying!

Viktor Gyokeres

 Not an Arsenal fan but was actually quite proud that he was unveiled in Singapore’s Festival of Football game between Arsenal and Newcastle.

And I was there to catch Arsenal win 3-2!

A Rail Corridor Birthday Treat

 Gave myself a birthday treat my tormenting my body for a day. Jogged/walked the full 23km of the Rail Corridor, from Kranji to Tanjong Pagar. Will drop at least a toenail or two because the rain drenched me and my poor feet. 8/10 would recommend.

Here’s my quick review:

Northern Corridor - most underdeveloped, literally mud paths that destroy shoes when there’s rain, pools of mud traps. Poor signage as well.

Central Corridor - most touristy, all the instagrammable stuff are within this shortest 5km segment (truss bridge, old station etc), paths are very well developed.

Southern Corridor Part- most boring, just endless PCN literally along AYE all the way to Tanjong Pagar. At least the paths are well developed and lots of wild chickens.

 The Phantom rolled into town recently and we went to catch it at MBS recently. 

The kids love the songs from this musical.
