2020 Battlescars

In more ways than one, I feel very lucky in this unfortunate COVID-19 situation.

Family life has improved so much.

Health has improved so much.

Work is still going well even though we WFH a lot more now.

Kids are growing up so well.

The recent Appendicitis surgery also put things in greater perspective as we dawn upon a tough situation the world currently sees itself in.

It was a very successful surgery. I am recovering very well. The insurance claims were seamless.

I was actually working that very Tuesday after the long weekend!

There is really so much to be thankful for and long may this bliss and prosperity in my life continue.

Here's a picture of my battlescars after seven days post-op.

My Wife The Masterchef

I guess my wife is a chip off the block.

Since the COVID-19 situation, she's taken to honing her cooking and baking skills.

Since my surgery, she's taken things to another level as she beefs up the kitchen with even more cooking machinery and gear (I bought another oven for her birthday though its not here yet!).

All her meals are so delicious, healthy and delightful.

I cannot get enough of it.

Here're some of the meals that she's prepared for me (very fish-oriented) since surgery.

Plus they taste even better than they look!

Hospital Meal

Wanted to illustrate what a normal hospital meal looked like while I was hospitalized that night for my Appendicitis operation.

So hungry was I that I wolfed everything down quickly.

This was lunch the day after.

Fish porridge, fruits, plain bread, apple juice and hot milo.

Birthday Cards From The Children

I always treasure these handmade cards.

Here's what I received this year from the kiddos.

So cute.

MIL Dinner Delights

So now we're allowed to go back to visiting the in-laws.

But we're only allowed to go one family at a time, so it is slightly different.

Nonetheless the MIL still whips up a storm with her ultra delicious cooking.

Look at the number of dishes for only 4 adults and 2 children?!

That's selfmade ngo hiang, and otah otah!!!

Beer

Just random pictures of my beer.

I do drink quite a lot of it prior to this bout of Appendicitis.

Surprise Gifts At The Office

My birthday was almost three weeks ago, but I'm so blessed to have nice colleagues who take the effort to try to celebrate my birthday even though they know I don't like the fanfare.

Half my team that's split from us even came on Skype to sing me a birthday song together with my team in the office.

So lovely.

Baking

My wife is totally into baking now.

So much so that I've ordered a new small oven for her birthday present.

The best part is that her bread is super delicious!

Hope she continues to love and develop this hobby.

Look at these pork-floss buns!

WFO Food

So the current arrangement in this situation, is to work in the office three days, out of every ten working days.

This means I basically go into the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays on one week, WFH that Monday and Friday, and WFH the whole of the next week.

This has made me crave food in the CBD quite somewhat, so I try to eat a variety of food.

Here's some good stuff.

Football Has Restarted

The new normal.

Football training has now resumed for the boy.

Back to Barca Academy.

A lot more stringent now with many social distancing measures in place.
