Today I was casually sitting outside my kids' enrichment school minding my own business when my daughter ran out, saw me and shouted that my son had done something amazing and he was rewarded with a free prize worth 40 Heguru points (one of those encouragement points that you end up changing for toys).
At first I thought he'd amass these points based on the accumulative work he had done in class, as he always did get double digit points already.
Then my daughter showed me exactly what he did and I was totally shocked.
My son was able to memorize and then write out all three lines of numbers correctly after being given only 30s to memorize all three sets of numbers.
It is so amazing a feat that his Heguru teacher said that in her teaching career here, my son was only the 4th student to ever achieve this!
WOW!
So proud. Really I am.
Now take a look and try it for yourself.
Take all the time you need to try and memorize it.

OCC - Another Sub 100
I hit another fantastic golf score of 98 at OCC on Thursday.
Played with Eugene, Mark and his friend.
I am so happy.
This substantiates that my previous best score of 93 in Ho Chi Minh City wasn't a fluke.
Also that when my momentum is ongoing, I never hit any double pars :)
Can't wait to play again.
The course at OCC is very nice. We played Vanda and Aranda courses, both of which I hit a 49.
Some pictures below. See how beautiful it is.

Avengers: Endgame
So the official premier in Singapore was on the 24th of April.
I had an evening event that day, but in the end manage to look around Suntec and snagged a single ticket for myself! Super happy.
Then two days later I brought my kids for a second viewing.
Now I'm trying to find another opportunity to go watch once more time at least.
Endgame truly is a movie like no other.
It was so epic, that I laughed, I cheered, I cried. In the end I came out of the cinema feeling so satisfied. The only yearning is one of wanting to watch again to feel the same emotions.
Go catch it if you haven't.
Part of the journey is the end :(

Pokemon GO Safari Zone Sentosa
Wow. Finally Safari Zone managed to come to Singapore, and the day is finally here!
Had blogged about applying for several passes but only receiving one previously.
The main event details are all here.
So finally the day is here on a Sunday and I make my way to Vivocity and take the train over to Beach Station.
I was excited like a little kid, only far more prepared as I had read online reviews from user experience the previous days and got myself proper breakfast at Mcdonald's at Vivocity, dabaoed lunch, packed water and even brought my phone chargers too.
Upon entering Sentosa, the Pokestops for Safari Zone greeted me. The first one being right at the entrance of Sentosa (if you came by foot), while the second was at Beach Station (if yu came by train)
Once we got out of Beach Station, the Safari Zone area was properly decked out and welcomed us to the beaches stretching the entire length of Palawan Beach. It was amazing! Speakers were blaring the Pokemon theme song and music from the shows, as well as from the game itself, there were all sorts of pop up Pokemon standees to take pictures with.
Super cool!
There was even a giant Lapras float in the water!
Most impressive of all were the tentages for Pokemon Trainers to rest. There were two sets, one on each end of the beach, which were split into 3 tentages of the different teams. Naturally I tried to go only to the Instinct team tentage which I belong. Inside these tentages were large fans and most importantly, chargers for us to charge our phones!
Finally was the crowd. Since I got there early, it was still manageable. By noon, that was when the bulk of the people came. All 20,000+ of them. Even in the thick sweltering heat, there were SO MANY people!
Although the event was from 10am to 8pm, I had other commitments and therefore had to leave around 4.30pm. Was quite sad to go so early. Nonetheless this was such an enjoyable event for me and I'm sure for many other trainers out there.
I ended up catching Tropius, the various Unowns that spelt SENTOSA!, and shinies of Omanyte, Shuckle, Dratini and Sunkern.

1 Corinthians 13:7 NLT
Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
Tanjong Pagar Terminal
Soon this once busy terminal will make way for another new CBD.
This view taken from the Westin is so beautiful.

Jewel @ Changi
What a revelation.
It has finally opened.
Am I proud of it or what.
This is really so majestic and remarkable that it makes me so proud.
Problem is that it is so crowded now that its just opened.
Better go see if you haven't.
Wish I had better pictures to do the place justice.
This is the new icon of Singapore.

Late Night Running
Trying to keep this up.
It is quite therapeutic, especially when the paths are free of joggers.
More so this year with all the various problems cropping up in my 2019 life.
I still think I'm coping well. In spite of all that's already happened.
10km is the current optimum along the same Singapore Sailing Club route.

ECP Renovation In Progress
Another part of East coast Parkway is renewed.
Remember where the old Burger King, Long Beach Seafood and East Coast Futsal Cage used to be? Well it's now a huge new park with cool and fancy swings and stuff.
The old making way for the new.

Morning Run
Went for a morning run this morning, my usual ECP route past Bedok Jetty.
Except a slight twist where rather I turn around at the last public toilet at the National Sailing Center, I pushed a little further past that.
And what I found was even more ECP road to run!
Will explore further next time.

Operation Dagger
So we ventured to this place one night last week. It is supposedly a new popular underground speakeasy bar thingy.
Well tucked in the midst of Ann Siang Hill at Club Street, when we finally found it, it was really secluded and dinghy.
The entrance was at a back alley by the side of a dumpster and then you had to walk down to a basement via a dodgy staircase.
Upon finding the bar, we were pleasantly surprised by the look and feel of the place. Prices are expensive but for the ambience, the effort with the chic decor, I guess it was an experience to be had.
The drinks menu was stated without the alcohol so that it will be a surprise.
I ended up having the Why Try So Hard - which tasted like cough syrup. Akin to the bartender asking himself the same question when making a drink for a patron. Other drinks were definitely more interesting.
Check out their website here.

MIL Cooking Is Top Class
Wifey is away.
Brought the kids to the in-laws' place.
My MIL always takes good care of me and feeds me well.
Upon knowing I was coming, she cooked up this storm.
Wow.
Am grateful.

Fatherhood Reflections LIX - Rearranging The Kids Room
The kids are growing up so fast.
It was high time we gave them more space when they sleep.
Enter my supermum. Did all the below in one single afternoon with the kids.
Sometimes I wonder how lost I would be without my mother. She is really my rock and my biggest pillar of support.
I am so grateful to her.
Heck, she even bought new bedsheets for them!

Nice Evening View Of Home
Managed to take this very nice picture while out walking with the kids.
In times like these, such little things deserve far more appreciation.

JPM Corporate Challenge 2019
Another good annual runout of 5.6km, which was very easy for me these days.
This year's organization of the route and the overall event felt very underwhelming.
The route was full of choke points, which meant that it was hard to clock good timings.
The organization was super bad in that they flagged off the runners and the walkers in similar waves. So those of us who ended up in the back waves had to spend the whole route running through SO MANY walkers.
Anyway managed to clock 34:53 which I felt was commendable.
