Its New Year's eve and I'm gonna be spending it with the wifey and the wifey alone, in a couple of hours time!
Our (My) grand masterplan is to go to the Marina Bay Golf Course at 11+ , by which time I'm expecting it to be closed. From the 3rd and 4th stories of the driving range, you can get a good view of Marina Bay (else the name?) and the city. Hopefully there arn't too many people as brilliant as my good self. A nice snack (unhealthy potato chips and beverage) should top up the night to be a memorable one.
Dun copy me ah!
Anyway, at the beginning of the year, I came up with my 2007 resolutions. Luckily I have only three and I can look back and say that I've met most of them (2/3 isn't too bad!).
1. Succeeded! Only because I drive less too.
2. This one I didn't meet. Almost, but didn't. But I'm happy with my performance anyways.
3. Succeeded! Myaybe I'm maturing.
Well, I'll be coming up with my 2008 resos soon so watch this space! Meanwhile I gotta give up the computer for the wifey to write her final blog of 2007 too!
Cya 2007, happy new year everyone!!!

Merry Christmas Everyone!
I better post this fast.
Merry Christmas everyone!!!
Spent Christmas eve at Bock Lian's place last night and got back to Sengkang only around 4am. Its finally in liveable conditions (by my standards!) and its coming up quite nicely.
Nonetheless more work needs to be done and thankfully I've got till the New Year to continue slogging on the new home!
Just subscribed to StarHub's MaxOnline dunno if its any good but if all goes well, I'll be online in Sengkang by Thursday!

Ok, so its not exactly PGA material, but! My best ever score on an 18-hole golf course.
Went to SouthLinks in Batam today with the boyz and had a fantastic time. I think I'm definitely improving and my tee-offs are getting pretty okay! The irons are looking good after I switched from 5/7 to 4/6. Putting let me down a wee bit though.
I even had a par on the 4th hole! Though hole 8 I was playing ping-pong between two bunkers with the flag in between. Tony himself hit a sub 100 for the first time while Youlong's putting killed him (if not he should have done much better).
We finished the course in a little under 4 hours, got baked in the sun, lost only 4 balls, and slept most of the journey back (okay I'm really tired but I couldn't sleep due to the lousy boat ride back, but the other two did!).
Maybe its time to take golf a wee bit more seriously.

Sengkang Resident
Sengkanger?
Sengkangite?
Sengkangian?
They all don't sound very nice.
Nonetheless, I am now a Sengkang resident. Not fully moved in, but I officially spent my first night in my new home over the weekend. We spent the weekend painting (yet again) and we're STILL not fully done yet. Left with one last room.
The TV also came early evening today and its huge! So happy that at least that's one of our key requirements fulfilled. We'll have to wait for the next month's salary to cash in before we can think about what to get next. So now we still make do without a fridge, any beds, sofa set and cable/internet connection.
So happy with our home location. We're walking distance between Compass Point in front and Rivervale Plaza at the back. Walked to both places to recce over the weekend. All that complemented by a really good coffee shop beside out MSCP. We'll never go hungry!
Our neighbours are really friendly too, except for a barking dog by the name of Jackie. He'll bark at any of you if you ever do visit, but bare with it, for hit helps not only our neighbours but us as well to guard our cosy little corner.
The house is also windy as hell. Last night we had to sleep on the cold hard floor only with my company's beach mats to rest on (wasn't helpful). I had to eventually switch the fan off because it was already so cold and we had to resort to using some old curtains (which we wanted to dispose of) as blankets. Brrrr!
That's about it. But if I haven't personally told you already, Sengkang is definitely gonna be the next Bishan! This little enclave in the North-eastern end of Singapore may seem ulu papaya to alot of you, but with the limited time I've spent here, I see red-hot potential.
The demographic is just starting to ripen, mainly young couples and young families all over the neighbourhood. Its very public transport oriented (LRT, NEL, lotsa bicycles and bus services). The crowds at its malls are teeming with people daily, clearly shouting for more facilities to be built. Sports complex and Town council building coming up in 2008. KPE linking straight to ECP. Punggol Marina (at least they're serious this time!). Good pri and sec schools. And (surprise!) condos and private property coming up in the area.
Most of these you don't have to be a genius to figure out once you drop by for a visit. But its also probably the only suburb thats got its own website as www.sengkang.com
Haha. Ok, anymore ranting and its all gonna look like a sales pitch from me.
Let me know if you're my neighbour!!!

A New Beginning
Ok. So I have been too busy to blog about what could probably be one of the most significant events of my life. But painting a 5-room flat is plain tough can?!
I'll make it up with pictures...
Anyway, the knot's tied and we've went through our ROM sailing really smoothly! There're some nice pictures and I'm so glad we got a really good photographer cuz its really just so important. The solemnization was short yet meaningful and we had a feastful dinner after that at that Suntec Chinese restaurant that I can never remember its name. Both our families met for the first time that day and it was a better-than-expected meet-up.
These are some of the many pictures our photographer took. If these arn't excellent artistic shots, I don't know what are...
Here's my favourite pic...that's my mum right there...
We also got our house keys!
Been too busy painting the house to blog about much of it. But we spent Friday and Sunday painting while I fitted a Saxo golf game at Bintan in between (was way fun too!).
K lah that's all for the update. If you are interested in our photographer just let me know.
